Re: Update from phpBB 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 - database does not go offline

Going further, I navigated to the install/ directory. There are 5 steps in the Update tab. Introduction Check requirements Set installation data Update files Update database I start with Introduction, then click my only option "Update". The updater skips to the 4th step, Update files, and then stops...

Re: Update from phpBB 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 - database does not go offline

As admin you don't see that message. You will need to logout to see it I have logged out, changed browsers, and used a separate test account. There is no change in the database behavior - it is not locked for writing. I can edit and update posts as normal. When I rename the install/ directory to so...

Re: [Split] Discuss: phpBB 3.2.3 Release (update problems)

My mistake, I thought this was a general update discussion.

I have moved my post into a new topic. See: Update from phpBB 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 - database does not go offline

Show soft-deleted posts as "Your moderator at work"

When enforcing our board rules, a moderator may post in a topic that an action has been taken action and that a post has been removed. The post is soft-deleted, but the readers only know that a post is no longer visible. One of the boards I read shows soft-deleted posts with a message as "Your moder...

Re: Allow Site logo ( forum logo ) to be changed from ACP

Voted. If I can enter the site description, I should be able to add the site logo. I agree it will help to make the software more user-friendly.

Re: How to link another css in to stylesheet.css

Any change to a style, such as a CSS file, will not take effect until the system cache is purged. Admin Control Panel --> General --> Purge the cache (Run now).

I do not have this extension, but clearing the cache will force the style to be recompiled.

Re: [3.2][BETA] Show Topic Starter

...Modifications to extensions will get lost in an update process so it is not recommendable to modify. (but you can of course). And I would like to keep the style decoupled from the rendering. Therefore I'm writing now an extension that makes it possible to add custom css. (Probably to be publishe...

Re: Identify the Topic Author under the Avatar

My intention was for separation of styles from active code.

martti's extension works better for my board than Topic Author, described here.

I have created my first pull request to add a css style to martti's extension. See my post here: Re: [3.2][BETA] Show Topic Starter

Re: [3.2][BETA] Show Topic Starter

Seems like you forgot to add the css file in the repo? https://github.com/marttiphpbb/phpbb-ext-showtopicstarter/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=marttiphpbb-showtopicstarter&type= For me it looks ok as it is. The class is just there as selector for whoever wants to style it. I have created my very first re...

Re: Identify the Topic Author under the Avatar

Inserting a single line of code will work as you suggest (thank you), but I want to avoid modifications to the released code base. My first approach is to search for a validated PHP extension, as the validation process includes a check for security issues. I would suggest placing style customization...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Show Topic Starter

It's really this one: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/topic_author/ I see. it's a newer version, 1.0.4 instead of 1.0.2 in the CDB. Link to the repo in Github: https://github.com/dmzx/Topic-Author Thank you for locating the latest version. I have compared your extension to Topic Author...
