Re: Whois not working for admin

OK - cleared. Coincidentally the hosts had implemented port 43 block at about the same time as I upgraded. Block now removed and lookup working correctly (although the hosts said they would 'monitor activity' - guess they must have been hacked or attacked through port 43 somehow) Anyway I have insta...

Has the port been changed in v 3.0.12 - as I have said this was fine in v 3.1.11

UPDATE

Using a fresh install to a test folder and including my real forum's config file did nothing to correct this issue. To experiment, I rolled back the installation to 3.0.11 - the Whois had functioned correctly previously. However, it now fails in the rolled back v3.0.11 The real board is back to 3.0....

Re: Whois not working for admin

Is it a PHP problem? I can replicate this error on brand new installs of phpBB3.0.12 using PHP5.2.17 and PHP5.3.23 Edit: This was using free hosting so could it be a resource issue? (not saying you're using a free host, just that the two I tested were) No, this is not a resource issue in this case....

Cheers Robert

Which is why I posted this as a support issue.

Re: Whois not working for admin

There seems to be something of a head in the sand attitude here. This IS a problem with V 3.0.12 as it was not encountered in any previous versions. I have been running websites since 1999 and so have some clue as to tech issues. This is one of them. As I did not compile the code I am unable to dete...

Re: Whois not working for admin

I see from the image that there seems to be an issue with (presumably) Advanced Block MOD, probably a language file see { RECHECK_SPAM }. I would be inclined to ask the MOD author about this or whichever MOD it is that's causing that issue. This is not the issue. The Whois worked fine with the Adva...

Re: Whois not working

I am trying to let you know that there is a problem.

Nothing displays. The look up is not functioning. See image.

It does not matter from which page the whois link is clicked.

On both the Who is Online and ACP , when I click the IP address , it simply opens a Who is It page without showing the information.
Yes, it appears that this is a glitch related to updating from 3.0.11 to 3.0.12

When did the issue begin for you?
