Reordering & removing profile fields

I noticed that PHPBB allows you to add custom profile fields in the ACP.
But I don't see any way to reorder or remove any of the default profile fields (like Yahoo messenger among others). Can someone point me to instructions on reordering and removing profile fields.
Thanks

browser link to ACP?

I'd like to create a bookmark in Firefox directly to the ACP login of my forum. (Administrative Control Panel). The URL format is http://www.(domain).com/phpbb3/adm/index.php?sid=(bunch of characters) A simple add to bookmark function doesn't work. Perhaps as the URL constantly changes. Is there any...

Posting news articles in a PHPBB forum

In a forum I'm developing, I have a News section where I will be encouraging users to post and discuss articles to tech news topics (relevant to my forum subject). This is one idea I have to keep users engaged, especially as I build a user and content base. Since a PHPBB forum has a far different st...

Best practices for building a successful forum

I'm new to designing and growing a forum. It's obvious that solid, unique and relevant content is the most important component for building a growing a partipant base. But beyond this, I'd like to hear ideas from experienced forum developers on best practices. There doesn't seem to be much that can ...

mobile theme vs. Tapatalk

I'm developing a forum, where it's essential to have a mobile Smartphone interface.
From those who are experienced, is it better to go with a mobile style/theme or to integrate with the Tapatalk app. Thanks

Search Tag Cloud

Any way to add a search tag cloud to a PHPBB forum? I've seen this feature on many vbulletin forums. Scroll to the bottom to see an example of what I'm speaking of http://www.trackforums.com/forum/search.php I'm wondering if this can be done in Java script with hooks into the search keyboards stored...

need fair use legal templates - t&c, privacy policy, rules

I need to develop the following legal notices on my site forum rules, terms and conditions, privacy policy. I'm not a lawyer, don't want to hire one. I'm looking for some fair use templates for these notices. I'm strong assuming it's not a good idea to lift these notices from other forums to use on ...

Password Complexity setting

I'm new to developing PHPBB forums. I would like to set registration Password Complexity to "No Requirement" I'd rather not force my registered users to use a upper/lower case, combination of letters/numbers or symbols. Is this a bad idea? From what I understand, it's difficult for brute force guess...

Re: MODs that are only validated for previous PHPBB versions

That's great that there is a good chance MODs for 3.10 and 3.9 will work with 3.11
But don't try MODs built for 3.8 and previous with PHPBB 3.11?

MODs that are only validated for previous PHPBB versions

I've noticed that there are a few MODs I'd like to have that are not listed for the current version of PHPBB (3.0.11). For example many mods are only listed for compatability for 3.0.10 and 3.0.9 Is it bad practice to install and try MODs on PHPBB 3.011, that are only listed for previous versions of...

Process for updating PHPBB with new versions?

I'm new to PHPBB and have it installed and running on my host server. Is there a way to set up e-mail alerts when new PHPBB updates are available (especially critical security patches)? I have a few MODs installed. When I perform an update, do I have to first take the forum offline? What happens to ...
