Re: instruction on how to -replace- my PHPBB database

OK, host told me to create a new user for my database, and reference that particular new user in the mysql statement. It worked.
Thank you everyone for your help. I hope this thread will be helpful to others in the future.

Re: instruction on how to -replace- my PHPBB database

The database is 23mb. Not sure why it's so big. I have about 200 posts.
It could be related to MODs I installed.
I'll talk to my host again

Re: instruction on how to -replace- my PHPBB database

Thanks, I dropped the tables manually and this resolved the duplicate entry error. Now I have a new error to deal with. User 'has exceeded the 'max_updates' resource (current value: 36000). max_updates is the number of updates that an account can issue per hour, and since my database is somewhat lar...

PHPBB files where statistics are stored

I temporarily moved my PHPBB site to a Virtual Private Server and I'm currently transitioning back to a shared server after about 3-weeks. I'm trying to understand where PHPBB stores statistics and other data so I know which files to copy back. I didn't change any code or templates. I did add a few ...

I have a PHPBB forum and just ran into a serious issue after my host switched me from a shared server to a VPS, and they can't figure out how to fix it for me. On all of my posts that contained inline attached pictures, the pictures no longer display, instead if I get a hyperlink to the image. When ...

"Add to Google Calendar" BBCODE (not working)

I'm trying to create an "Add to Google Calendar" BBCODE. So users can click a button and add a pre-filled event (that I create) to their Google Calendar. My posts don't come up in some searches on my board

Last month, I could go to the advanced search page on my board, leave the "Search for keywords:" field blank and fill in only an asterisk in the "Search for author:" box, then when I hit search, the results page showed me a list of all posts on my board in reverse order that they were posted. This e...

how to not show attachment file names in posts

In some forums, I've set my permissions to restrict guests from viewing/downloading image files in my posts. Instead PHPBB shows guests the file name of image/attachment inline, inside the post. I'd like to modify the php code so that the file name of the image/attachment does not appear inline in t...
