Re: What do you think about Markdown?

As I said into another post: What about to implement a real full rich text editor with icons instead bbcodes buttons? There are plenty good solution even extensions that could be implemented into the core to replace bbcode system once for all. Of course giving admins the possibility to add their own...

Re: Automatically parse "@" and "#"? Interesting but...

Interesting but what if a user intends the @ o the # as a ref to an author of a previous post that hasn't any account on twitter but is using @ or # just to make a ref to a previous author on the topic without a real quotation? I know there is the "quote" bbcode but users have strange needs sometime...

Re: Friendly or Pretty URLS: "intermediate" solution proposal

Online there are url shortening service that can help everyone to remember better very long urls replacing them with really shorter ones, if the problem is remembering them for people minds. Also some services allow to be implemented easily into the own board. Anyway I'm doing just some little exper...

Re: Notification emails stopped working suddenly: how frequent?

Is this issue happening frequently as far as devs know? I'm asking that because I tried to register to Area51 more and more times but I got no response at all. I tried to register to Area51 because the section "Ideas" on phpbb forum is "permanently(?)" under maintenance (I'm very sad for it). On Are...

Re: Posts waiting for approval should be visible to the authors

I tried to implement that while creating softdelete. The problem is, it makes the queries way more complex and heavier. The query run time for the most important queries increase by factor 10. For the problem of the slowness of queries, is the following idea helpful for keeping queries quick...

Re: Quote with link to quoted post

Or inverting the date and the user:
Where (as before):
1) clicking on the date will open the original post.
2) clicking on the user will open the user profile

Re: Quote with link to quoted post

Another interesting and still more versatile solution could be the following:
Where:
1) clicking on the user will open the user profile
2) clicking on the date will open the original post.

Re: Quote with link to quoted post

Why must the user ID be in quotes? The user ID is always a number, not a text. I asked why there is the need to put a number into quotes, since it doesn't need any borders for detection . I used the same pattern used now. Infact, for what I can see, clicking on the "quote" button creates a string l...

Re: +1, Like, or something similar

Problem with simplicity/concept is: you can't trace back when and why someone liked it. If posts change/move/vanish from a topic even more context is gone. Not to speak of activity on the board: people tend to click instead of replying with reasons why they like something (and why not ). Similar to...

Re: +1, Like, or something similar

Thanks, but unfortunately it is just a mod or ext. Not into the core.
But it is a start, nevertheless I'd prefered a version with the possibility to vote + and -.

Re: Update Standard Profile Fields

It could be an idea to evaluate to have just 2 tables The first named COMMUNICATION_SERVICES_CATEGORIES (or something) with 2 columns: ID SERVICE_CATEGORY (With "Doubble not allowed") Here, using ACP, Admins add the categories list of the service they want to make available to users. Or: Users using...

Re: Math formulas rendering

only if No, conditions need to be evaluated always. Evaluating the condition "if there is a formula into the page" is pretty fast than rendering it (if found any into the page). I have implemented as bbcode formulas rendering feature into my forum/site as external service and the event "render the ...
