Re: Automatically delete unactivated accounts

That link shows 404 err page. So does the idea URI to this one ( https://www.phpbb.com/ideas/idea.php?id=326 ), because the whole idea subsystem is broken since phpbb.com switched from 3.0.x to 3.1.x . Let me give you the topic URI instead: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=436&t=2190...

Re: Auto user pruning

a "Filter preview" You're doing it again: adding features which were never in your initial idea. And a prune preview is unbound to your idea - i.e. see Re: [RFC] Improve User Pruning feature (from 2011-08-07) and the following posts. Your initial idea is an automatic user pruning. And you already n...

Re: Math formulas rendering

possible consequence An unavoidable consequence is that for everybody the board code needs a longer execution time , no matter if they use this feature or not. That's why an extension is by far the better solution. Longer execution time that happens only if into the page browsed are present math fo...

Re: Auto user pruning

the risk to delete some one that doesn't need to be deleted! It will be a better task if it will be automated In most cases that even increases the risk. Chances are you're spending more time on defining exceptions than you would on manually choosing users. Right observation but the time spent depe...

Re: Quote with link to quoted post

I corrected my previous post The downside of "hiding" what you once did is that now nobody knows what I refer to. Yes, sorry again, I acted that way to not make a new post just for few microscopic corrections: anyway not my intention to cause discomfort. including each part into quotes Why must the...

Re: how to send a template variable into Javascript

Try the following: <script type="text/javascript"> var r="{TOPIC_TITLE}"; [your code goes here] </script> Explication: 1) The second parenthesis you used into the variable is round: phpbb template vars need curly brackets for both opening and closing vars; 2) The {TOPIC_TITLE} is just "a placeholder...

Re: Move Layouts blocks with mouse

in the case some admin wants to implement new features No. Moving around blocks does not imply custom HTML, CSS or JS, and by far not data exchange with phpBB . This whole idea was always about existing parts, not new ones. Basically yes. But, a bit more develop around it, this new "layout manager"...

Re: Auto user pruning

1 It would be interesting new feature: I don't like to do it manually and periodically: infact it is a tedious operation to do manually with the risk to delete some one that doesn't need to be deleted! It will be a better task if it will be automated. Of course it must be facultative and it must be ...

Re: Quote with link to quoted post

IMHO the best solution That means you ignored or did not understand all the previous posts, as your format collides with usernames with commas, usernames consisting of numbers only and regional settings of date/time formats. And you forgot a closing quotation mark. Ehhem... yeap, sorry. Thanks for ...

Re: Paste images into a post directly from clipboard

drag'n drop files from computer to window text area That (drag'n'drop files) completely differs from what you initially wanted (paste picture data from clipboard). I agree, but the drag'n drop and the multi file simultaneous upload are also good solutions that help me not be nostalgic about "pastin...

Re: Math formulas rendering

The use for this will be really limited for nearly all forums, this is really better as extension in my opinion. Extention? Well I don't know. There are some web sites that offer such a service to integrate in another web site or board as well as external service like I did into mine, here an examp...

Re: Security improvement: separate loginID from nickname

This results in more or less two passwords: your login-only-but-nowhere-displayed-name is just a second password. More or less yes: it multiply the security because login is secret like the pass and if a cracker tries to gain the access to an account (user or admin), the cracker has to multiply his...

Re: Paste images into a post directly from clipboard

Recently I gave a try to the 3.1.4 and I saw that now it supports drag'n drop files from computer to window text area... for me is ok this way too.
