If you scroll back you'll see my issue was resolved. However, the others still having the hacking issue should definitely use the template form to officially register the issue and request assistance.

An excellent point and suggestion, but in my case my original board was in an earlier version. I totally deleted that board as I didn't really want that board. I returned with a totally new board with version 2.0.13 and it is then when it got hacked. So there was no chance of a hacker who cracked it...

Wrong. I've updated to 2.0.13 and always upgraded with each new version as soon as they came out. I still got hacked . . . afterwords but fixed my board. As you indicated . . . you're "NOT" really even sure if they original poster upgraded. The others clearly indicated they had not upgraded. As I st...

The versions prior to 2.0.13 had significant security issues and that might explain your particular vulnerability. However, even with version 2.0.13 the hacks are still occurring. Things are indeed getting tighter but we've clearly got a ways to go. The problem is simple. Since the php code is open ...

It's becoming pretty clear that even version 2.0.13 is still pretty easily "hackable". I suppose just about anything can be eventually cracked, but hopefully the developers will seriously come out with a version that is a lot more iron clad than what we've been getting. Personally, I'd like to see a...

I don't know if there's any set number of fixes, improvements, etc. needed before a version upgrade is put out. I think it's largely a subjective decision on the part of the development team. One way the developers could address this issue is to make it a bit more clear if an upgrade version is real...

Actually I don't think there's necessarily a right or a wrong here. I used to dread upgrades because they were kind of a pain. Now I've got the procedure down pat and I can do it in minutes. Personally, I don't mind upgrades that come often but unless there's some critical need to do so I don't thin...

I think you also need to delete the "contrib" folder as well.

Just curious why your migrating in increments from 10 to 11 to 12 and then to 13. Why not simply upgrade from 10 to 13?

Think of a "user group" as a sub-group within the members of your message board. You can create a special forum especially for a particular group if you wish. You create your "user group" and then configure them for whatever forum entry privileges you assign them. Example say you have a group of fol...

David is absolutely right. The settings I gave you do seem to conflict because in one instance we're turning SMTP off for email and then were inserting the SMTP settings anyway. Normally, this would seem inconsistent, but those settings work for some bizarre reason with Yahoo Webhosting and php. I w...

Dusty I can help you. I understand the frustration as for weeks I posted away here trying to get help on this as well but nothing anyone posted worked. Yahoo as usual was no help at all. Until I finally came up with a solution that fixed all those errors. I'm using Yahoo and if you have a Yahoo acco...

php Board very slow loading

Hi, my board is a small one of only about 1.5mb and just a half dozen users right now. It is suddenly running very slow and often just times out in trying to enter it for all users including myself as Administrator. It is hosted by Yahoo and I have contacted them as I originally suspected their Serv...
