A good analogy above. We are the protectors of our boards . . . no one else . . . and I believe it was Thomas Paine who said the price of freedom is "ever-vigilance". Just as our virus programs, anti-spyware programs and windows itself needs to be updating constantly , our php boards also need to ke...

Good Greif "Defender" . . . you started out whinning about the frequency of the free upgrades for the free program provided to you by the Developers of this code (on their own time and dime by the way) and now your whinning that they don't provide you with "advanced" notice of when they're doing an ...

Well said. I had started a thread yesterday on this same issue and asking the same question The procedure in the past was always to upload the "install" and "contrib" folders and then delete them. However, this apparently is no longer the procedure. Also, downloading the "changed" zip folder now giv...

As far as the original "whinner" and his fellow crying choir . . . noboldy asked you to use this "FREE" open source code in the first place! If you think you've found a better (paid or free) message board then by all means don't let the door hit ya on the way over there. Personally, I've tried many ...

True . . . but new computer vulnerabilities and issues crop up EVERYDAY. I think what most of us are saying is there is no way to put updates on a convenient time schedule. We have to keep up with changes as they occur.

Well I have to agree the update from .17 -to- .18 was indeed buggy as heck for a lot of people. However, this upgrade from .18 -to- .19 was probably the easiset I've seen in some time. All I can say is thank God the developers do an excellent job of staying on top of refreshing the code as often as ...

Thanks to "Lumpy" for providing the correct answer in an adjacent thread on this issue. Apparently the upgrade procedure has changed and been simplified! Thanks.

Well never mind . . . apparently the same question just got reloaded underneath mine. The answer seems to be to ignore the other "install" folder and the rest of the folders with it and just go with the contents of the 18-to-19 changed folders. I will try that. This does seem to be a change from the...

Version 18 to 19 . . . two "Install" folders?

I've just noticed something I've not seen before in prior upgrades. I downloaded the CHANGED files to upgrade from version 18 to 19. I have no mods on my board. In the past, I always uploaded all the contents of this changed folder thus overlaping existing files. However, now I'm seeing an "install"...

Infamous "Sessions Error" in updating from 13 to .

I have several boards that are running just fine. I've upgraded all of them using the correct procedure each time without problem. However, one particular board keeps generating the below infamous "sessions error" no matter what I do! It's an un-modified brand new Subsilver board presently running v...

I downloaded that file. Unziped it and uploaded it to the main root directory. Lauched the file and got this:

error in query 1: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '"' at line 1
done (1 queries).
