Re: [BETA] daroPL_AntiSpam

Very simple and absolutely effective => ingenious :D There is a small issue in the installation instructions: 'confirm_code' => request_var('confirm_code', ''), occurs two times in includes/ucp/ucp_register.php, that means it is not clear which one to replace with 'confirm_code' => request_var($conf...

Re: [BETA] SFS Anti-Spam Registration

thats not how this mod works though, it does not use the sql inserts from SFS. Lefty, I didn't said anything bad regarding your mod but it was your decision to judge SFS trustworthy. We are not talking about a simple error here, we are talking about worst case. It is my opinion that even one false ...

Re: [BETA] SFS Anti-Spam Registration

Well, if you doubt it why don't you check it out yourself? Original SFS sql commands for phpbb, download from today: *snip* INSERT INTO `phpbb_banlist` VALUES ('', '', '', '*@chongsoft.org'); INSERT INTO `phpbb_banlist` VALUES ('', '', '', '*@web.de'); INSERT INTO `phpbb_banlist` VALUES ('', '', '',...

Re: [BETA] SFS Anti-Spam Registration

Beware of SFS!

At present SFS is blocking *@web.de

This is completely ridiculous because web.de is one of the best-recommended German email hosters. As well you could block *@gmail.com and be enchanted that you get less spam afterwards...

Re: [Discuss] phpBB 3.0.4 released

Is it normal that my nickname is in italic (hidden in profile) in all messages that I have posted in the past ? Same here. For me as Admin in "who is online" some hidden users are now displayed in italic and some in regular letters but I can't detect any differences in their profile settings.

Re: [BETA] SiteMap Generator

Very fine mod, it creates my sitemap (2500 topics) within a second. I found three issues: 1) I can't see any statistics. 2) I don't find where to activate the .gz compression 3) The sitemap is not complete: Some of the topics in my forums contain a lot of posts (> 10,000). The entry <loc>http://www....

Re: Last 12h 24h 48h 72h

There is an easily to implement workaround for this mod: 1) Do the modification of search.php as described for the mod "search_back_phpbb3_0.1.0" - http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=583772 2) Then you can add links to your overall header or index_body (replacing the active_topics l...

Re: google sitemap generator for phpbb3.0.x

About 10 days. And then the "google dance" starts - during which the position of your site varies from minute to minute. About 2 weeks later the position begins to stabilize slowly.

Re: Registration Mail in Spamfolder

Those false positives are becoming a worse nuisance than spam was itself. :(
I added notes regarding this problem to the registration form and in the Announcements section of my forum.

Re: Creating a new config.php file for phpBB 3x

Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /config.php:1) I experienced this many times now. Strange thing. If I advise my editor (UltraEdit) explicitly to save the edited files as UTF-8, no BOM all works fine, if I don't I get the same error message. But I can't ...

Re: [BETA] simple syndication

This mod doesn't show text which is surrounded by
  • -tags, e.g.

    Code: Select all

    [list]
    [*]item
    [*]item
    [/list]
Special BBcode (e.g. Youtube-tags) only sometimes (only in first post of a thread???) appears in RSSOwl, linefeeds are ignored for the most part.

session ip validation - necessary with cookies?

TOR-users are logged off after only a few seconds - also if they allow session cookies. Is session ip validation necessary for users who allow cookies? As far as I understand that security feature it should prevent a takeover of accounts of users who have sid strings in their referrer and it make no...
