Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

I had a look, and no: phpBB does not store the "first time login" information. So we'll have to rely on the registration date . For that matter, here's the new version 0.5.1: Added Italian translation ( twm49 ) Allow a notice to be dismissed in preview mode (but it's not saved that you dismissed it)...

Yes, be course I have hundreds of old members without a post, but only want to to show a message to first time logged in users.
If possible ?
I don't know if it's possible yet, I need to dig if I can get this information.
What about "registered today"? would that work for you?

Is it possible to select {FIRSTVISIT}, to welcome new members?
If they haven't posted yet, are they not considered as new members?
Otherwise what would you consider a new member: somebody who just logged in for the first time only?

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

As a matter of fact, yes it's been discussed. And no it's not ready for that.

I'm trying to decide if I should get the extension to the official database first, or deal with multi-notices before.

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

version 0.5.0 is out: The long awaited "dismissible" notice is finally finished! Registered users and guests can dismiss a notice (it uses cookies for guests) You can specify that the notice will come back after some days (or not if you don't need to) The CSS is applied as a class and no longer on ...

Re: [3.2][RC] [3.2] [RC] leftmenu

I'm not sure I understand what this extension is about to be honest.

Can you be a bit more explicit please? What kind of left menu is it providing?

Re: Microsoft buys Github

Microsoft invested a lot in open source lately. As a matter of fact, the biggest project hosted on github is ... the open source replacement of dot net framework: dot net core. And it was already the case before buying them.

And yes Microsoft today is no longer the Microsoft from the nineties...

Re: Tool to search for code

As a developer I use Visual Studio Code . As a developer tool it’s excellent, as a text editor it’s excellent, as a tool to search for string in files, it’s blazingly fast. If you install the php extension in it (I recommend intelephense) you can right click on a keyword and search where it’s been u...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

And copy all the files to the folder [root of your phpBB]/ext/fq/boardnotices/ Done, but doesn't show up to activeting it. There are some files missing. Duh! I was cleaning up the files at the root and I forgot to leave composer.json . My bad! it's fixed now, you can download the zip again :...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

If it were not too difficult it would be important, for me, to have the option " Display on board index only:" I guess I just need to find out a reliable way of checking that the current page is the board index. I'm not sure how yet. BTW the code in master is broken for PHP 5 right now (it works fo...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

About sending it to the CDB. Here is something you will not like: Functions (and variables, etc) in php should not be camelCase but snake_case. An extension won't be denied for things like that at all. Oh that's a relief! :) Thanks for that Anyway, new version on the way: version 0.4.3: Added a glo...
