I think their should be an option on this mod for Style ID of each bot instead of going into the database to change it. There is. On the Admin Bots page, click Edit on the line for a bot. You'll see a Bot Style option on the page. Yep. It didn't work. I picked one style and in the database it had a...

ferrethouse2004 I had the exact same problem as you. What I did was I found my IP address and actually added it to the bot list..I named it "noname bot". I then visited my web page and it said it cannon load default theme. Someone on this thread suggested I check out mysql database and se...

In reply to your question: Is the visit showing up in your bot admin page as a visit by Google? Or is it in your Pending list? If the latter, you need to accept it from the Pending list before it will be recognized as a Google bot. The first time I ran it it showed up as pending. I added it to the ...

you can only actaully have ONE root directory. root directory means the directory which there is no higher level to. a web site's root: http://www.mydomain.com/ and your computer's root: C:\ http://www.mydomain.com/phpbb2/ and C:\windows\ are NOT root directories. Two questions about robots.txt

Searched Google and phpbb and didn't find a clear answer so... 1. My forums are in a subdomain. Does that mean that my robots.txt file should be in the folder that the subdomain is in or simply in the root of the website (or both)? 2. I've placed my robots.txt file both in the root and in the folder...

Making .php extention .html for guests

When I was on version 0.8 I had this in place. I now have .13 in place and I can't find anything to allow for this. The search engine spiders seem to MUCH prefer the .html extensions as I had 3 times the number of spiders on the old version. I have this code in the .htaccess file but it doesn't seem...

Importing old database to latest release

I was using the database backup/restore functionality to move all my data to the new install. My database was too large and it was crapping out. Someone suggested breaking the .sql file into dozens of smaller .sql files. But I thought, why not just point the new install to the old database. I did th...

phpbb_search_wordlist

Those entries just represent search terms that people have used in the forums correct? I don't really need them do I? It would probably work if I got rid of them.

Importing 2.0.8 database into 2.0.13?

I'm trying to restore the database but after 15 hours the page just appears blank. I can't tell if it is doing anything. Does it normally take that long? I have about 10000 posts in my database and about 180 members (so it isn't that large).

Thanks.

Darn. I've only been up and running for about 6 months too. What a pain.

Hackers: Question about vulnerabilities

Hi all, I was hacked yesterday. I managed to fix the situation without too much trouble. The hacker managed to create an admin account in my database and put a redirect in the description of one of my forums. My question is this. Did he use the Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability or are there MANY vu...

All my forum topics dissappear when I browse from home using IE6 but looks fine when I browse from work using IE6. Both boxes are XP. Must be a different version of IE6. I'm changed the js file name to make things work again. I can change it back for trouble shooting.
