Re: [DEV][3.2] Topic/Post Reactions

Clearly it says:
Requirements: phpBB 3.2RC2

However is there any chance it will run, or can be made to run, in phpBB 3.1.10? It's exactly what I'm looking for.

Re: Is there a demand for an 'I Like This Post' extension?

probably the reason there is not much traffic on this request is because it has been done to death. there were several MODs for 3.0 there are several extensions in 3.1 yes , it is a very popular type of thing for some reason that escapes me. then again, I don't have the need to know how many people...

Re: Is there a demand for a 'Like This' extension?

Thanks to KevC for pointing out the Post Love extension. With a bit of adaption I think we could make it work although it's sometimes not as straightforward as it would appear. Occasionally problems do crop up with it as borne out by a post only in the last couple of days. It's always interesting ho...

Re: [BETA] Post Love

Many thanks, that's good news. I've downloaded the Post Love extension and looked at the images directory. I guess we could simply replace, for example, the 'Red-Heart-16' image with our own ''Like This' image, but keep the same file name, and it should work? http://i64.tinypic.com/166bpjd.jpg I'm s...

Re: [BETA] Post Love

As you will see from https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=496&t=2396261 KevC, Support Team Member has suggested I look at this topic on Post Love. So far there have been 447 posts here about Post Love (now 448!) and it has run on for a couple of years so plenty of activity and questions. ...

Is there a demand for an 'I Like This Post' extension?

Elsewhere on this forum I’ve contributed to the topic ‘Is phpBB dead?’ Mick, who is a support team member has come back with ‘Well said that man!! It’s good to know that Mick goes along with my comment. In effect Mick is saying that it is a ‘Like This’ comment, and maybe others do too, but it surpri...

Re: phpBB is dead

It looks as though broadly speaking we are in agreement over this and that phpBB is not dead. I see Facebook and Twitter as though they are daily newspapers. What's written today is in the bin tomorrow. No-one is interested. Forums are more like libraries. You go there for information that will stil...

That's it Pond Life, you've got it!

One observation is that '------Please Select ------' looks better than 'Choose' so we'll try that.

Many thanks.

Re: [DEV] Advanced Profile Fields Pack

In the last couple of days I have asked under [3.1.x] Support Forum ‘How do you add in a non pickable blank line on a drop down list?’ Here’s the topic. https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=466&t=2395226 I’ve explained: Under 'Profile type specific options' you can only opt for one field ...

Re: How do you add in a non pickable blank line on a drop down list?

Robert I understand what you say but I'll need to explain a little more about our proposed list of countries. It's something I have seen done this way before. Circa the first 30 countries on the list are the most likely to be where forum users registering are from. It will save the majority of those...

Re: How do you add in a non pickable blank line on a drop down list?

Thanks Moh and Robert for your thoughts on this. I now more fully understand this and as Robert says it works straight out of the box. Well it does, except that it still throws up one problem for me. Under 'Profile type specific options' you can only opt for one field to be non valid, not more. It's...

Re: How do you add in a non pickable blank line on a drop down list?

Thanks Moh. Yes we do want them to make a selection. They can't ignore the question and skip to the next one. You mention timezone. Yes, similar, we want to know what country they are from and they have to pick from the drop down list we give them. So they HAVE to pick from Australia, Denmark, Unite...

Re: [RC] TimeAgo timestamps

Thanks for that MuhClaren. I've just checked with my programer friend and this is what he has come back with:

I upload the extension, click on the install prompt and get a white screen and that's it. I go back to the mods page and it's still showing as not installed.

Does that help?

How do you add in a non pickable blank line on a drop down list?

For a forum build in phpBB 3.1.10 Prosilver. Re: Drop down list on registration form. How can you add in a blank line without that line then becoming an option? e.g. Currently: Choose Australia Austria Belgium Etc. Change to: Choose - - - - - - - < Blank line here. Not a pickable option. i.e. It is ...

A time stamp including (x ago) to run in 3.1.10?

Does anyone know of an extension that can display a time stamp including (x ago) that will run in a prosilver 3.1.10? e.g. 25 Nov 2016, 14:53 (2 days ago) My programing guy has tried this version which goes back over a year: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=456&t=2330246 He tells me i...
