Re: How to stop spam?

If they made posts read this: https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3.0/kb/article/how-to-clean-up-a-board-hit-by-spam/ Now you should use the question capthca or I use the Sortables captcha extension in my signature below. If you use a question, just use one question and make it something not easil...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.5 Release

I do have a test domain where the index is locked with a basic HTTP password. I could try the automatic update package there, but in the past after using that it was a disaster. So I refuse to use automatic updates again. I do of course backup the how enchilada all the time so if something goes wron...

Re: Picture directly paste

I was using Pro Silver when I tried this extension, but I had a Christmas theme extension activated. I guess when I finally store the Christmas theme extension in the forum attic tonight until next year, maybe I'll try this again and see what happens. I did try Firefox and it didn't work at all. If ...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.5 Release

I'm not really wanting to update to 3.2.5 at this time since I already updated to 3.2.4 and I have some core edits and what not so the process is a little more complicated for me. So with that, when does 3.2.6 come out? Is there perhaps a known time frame at least? Like 2 months form now or somethin...

Re: Picture directly paste

I can't seem to get this to work. I was using my main browser Pale Moon, and then I tried Firefox and no inline attachment appears upon copying an image from my computer. I even disabled three attachment related extensions thinking they were interfering.

Re: Search Engine

This looks like I need a VPS, and I only have a shared account at the moment. Figured if I could stream line my board a little ...

Re: Picture directly paste

So IE11 and Apple are out. Are there any other browsers this won't work with? Does it work with Firefox and Chrome? I thought I read on page 1 that they didn't. Which I guess wouldn't make any sense, but I figured I'd ask about any limitations. I like this idea, but man, too bad it can't work in the...

Re: topic rating system

Hell! At this rate phpBB should take on an asinine Xenforo mentality and offer trophies and crap to please the millennial base. After all, the sole ability to rate a topic by not even viewing the damn thing is a millennial thing, is it not? This generation.... get off my lawn.

Re: Private messages in the ACP?

I use PMSpy and another extension. One allows me to read PMs at free will without anyone knowing and PMSpy allows you to moderate PMs. But, PMSpy lets users know that their PMs can be viewed. So I only turn on PMSpy when and only if I need to use it. Yes, I'm a jerk.   My forum a...

Re: Search Engine

What exactly is Sphinx? Like mentioned, phpBB is a bulletin board website platform for lack of a better term. Where's WordPress is a Content Management System (CMS). WordPres' primary objective are standard issue websites and blogs. Though there are a handful of plugins to make it into a social medi...

Re: Test hack my site

or... you could just sit back and enjoy your board and not worry so much about the very slim possibility of your board getting hacked. ;) :D I would bet money that if there were any hacks around for phpbb that we would certainly be hearing about them. I would bet money that YOU would be hearing abo...
