Re: [3.2][RC] Random Password Generator

In the U.S, blow me is a sexual derogatory phrase. https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=blow+me ... but not in the UK https://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/british/blow-me I guess Popeye the Sailor Man always said, "well blow me down." Do you guys still call a cigarette a fag? T...

Re: [3.2][RC] Random Password Generator

Clicking “Copy” will copy that password to your computers clipboard. The word "computers" should be computer's. (26x26x10x8)²⁰ which equals 4.57E+94 I think you mean (26 + 26 + 10 + 8)^ 20 which equals 7.979E+36 Blow me (or some such word) you are correct. I don't know why I had multiplication in m...

Looks interesting. What kind of randomness are you using to create the password?

Re: VPN discussion: Are they necessary?

In my VPN I can disable IPv6 for some reason. So why it's there must be a security reason. I'd have to ask my VPN as to why it's there. Probably for the weird/rare times when someone's dealing with something that's not compatible with IPv6. There's also some mis-led privacy concerns that people hav...

Re: VPN discussion: Are they necessary?

Leaking his IP? Bull. It's just another website like any other. There's no "leak." And I use an add-on in my browser that forges the UA and referrer. Most people don't eve do this so it's a moot point in arguing that crap. As you can see if the network sniff, my point is that there are DNS requests ...

Re: Help the users to backup the topics

Go to webhostingtalk.com and find a new host. I would NEVER pay for that crap. Unless of course you're using a free host so there you get what you pay for.

Re: VPN discussion: Are they necessary?

If the site is over HTTPS you are already protected from most spying. HTTPS not only secures the communication it also secures against the domain being spoofed. With HTTPS the exact URL is not know by the ISP or anyone else eavesdropping , they can only determine the domain/IP. A VPN will protect y...

Re: [RC] Win10 for phpBB 3.2.5

I'm wondering why the version says 3.2.4? I downloaded the link in the first post. https://imgur.com/118z5Hs

Thanks, that works. No idea why that would make my current avatar show up in a topic preview, but it works.

Re: [RC] Aero for phpBB 3.2.5

Have a slight issue. Testing 3.2.5 with Aero and Aero black, Aero black doesn't show the avatar on preview of a topic using the Topic Preview extension and the web page is like constantly loading and filling the error log with this: A general error occurred: 404: Not Found » /styles/aero_black/theme...

Re: Signature hack?

I asked this very question and found a solution. https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=15165926#p15165926 Though, the Dev is Russian and uses Russian so if you want to read the page enter the url in Google and use translate. Or just download the first upload from there. It should work. He'...

Re: VPN discussion: Are they necessary?

Numerous people using VPNs think they add security, when in fact they have to trust the VPN provider. Both unpaid and paid VPN providers now have most likely all the traffic of the user and can log/inspect it, which is a great attack vector. Almost nobody thinks about this. If I want to spy on peop...
