Re: Is there an idiots guide?

Re: phpbb behind reverse proxy

Hi, I have installed phpbb in my environment. For caching and security reasons, I have a reverse proxy in front of the phpbb installation. I there a chance, that phpbb can use the x-forwarded-for header to get the correct IP? Many thanks, Hiob If by chance you're using cloudflare, and assuming you'...

Re: Data not showing - Illegal offset

Try testing for the array-key existence before using it.

Instead of:

Code: Select all

$someVar = $yourArray['Key'];
Try:

Code: Select all

if (isset($yourArray['Key']))
{
    $someVar = $yourArray['Key'];
}
Or shorthand using ternary:

Code: Select all

$someVar = isset($yourArray['Key']) ? $yourArray['Key'] : NULL;

Re: Coded a lot of custom pages 3 years ago, a lot has happened since then

All in one extension, unless the parts function without each other. You can make an extension depend on another extension. But if they don't function alone its more hassle than :) its worth to make them separately, imo. Thanks. :) So how to start learning this? I noticed there's a Hello World exten...

Re: [DEV] WYSIWYG SCEditor for phpBB 3.1

It does not work at all. after installing all the buttons missing. remove the extension - buttons appear. To which buttons do you refer? This extension provides a replacement editor to the standard phpbb editor. When installed, you should only see the new editor buttons, and not the standard ones. ...

Re: ACP menu items

Glad you got er, mate.

I've learned a lot from looking at Rich's and Matt's (VSE) extensions. I'm always excited when they release something new because it means I can scan their code and learn from it, without worrying about it being sloppy or insecure. Cheers.

Re: ACP menu items

Mark, After some testing, here are my conclusions. 1. File naming: I don't know if it's required, but looking at every example I can find of the language file, including mine, they all use the same filename prefixes; info_acp _extname.php. That is a separate lang file , with a different lang file fo...
