Check my post in the previous post just before your post. This thread has all the steps you need to solve the problem:

Thanks, but I prefer to wait until the update to 3.2.1 is fixed.

Re: 3.2.1 to 3.2.2 update timeout

not really. robert Thank you Robert. That was my guess and it worked as advertised. It's just that I never restored my board this way before so I was a bit apprehensive. Do you have any idea when the support team will have the update to 3.2.1 fixed so there won't be any more timeout errors? Thanks ...

Re: 3.2.1 to 3.2.2 update timeout

Before I got into this mess, I backed up my files and database. What do I restore first? Does the order of what I restore first matter?

Re: 3.2.1 to 3.2.2 update timeout

I don't know if this will help your specific case, but editing the config.php file mentioned in that locked thread worked for me. Find: mysql And replace it with: mysqli I also got this timeout error: The installer detected a timeout The installer has detected a timeout, you may try to refresh the ...

Re: My Database Would Not Update

changed files is not the best way to upgrade from one version to the next. you should be using the file replacement method unless for some reason you have been editing the phpbb core files. I have never purged the cache before to do an update. Other than that, I don't see a difference between repla...

There is no database_update file, you simply browse to the install folder.
OK. I'll try that and report back. Thanks.

Re: My Database Would Not Update

3.2.x doesn't have a database_update.php file. That's odd. docs/INSTALL.html under 4.ii. Changed files says "As for the other update procedures, you should run install/database_update.php after you have finished updating the files. This will update your database schema and increment the version num...

Re: My Database Would Not Update

Information please. Method of updating? From what version to what version? Error messages? Link to board. Where and how does the update fail? I attempted to update as I always do, changed files only. This was from 3.1.10 to the 3.2.0. There were no error messages. My screen simply said "Please dele...

My Database Would Not Update

I tried to update my forum from 3.1.10 to the 3.2.0 but after updating the files, and trying to run install/database_update.php, I noticed that the database wouldn't update. I've been updating my forum for many years and can't imagine that I made a mistake. What could have gone wrong?

Re: How to Backup a Database

The second database is not from your board and no nead to backup. I see. So the following files probably refer to a larger structure that my host created for my website? CHARACTER_SETS COLLATIONS COLLATION_CHARACTER_SET_APPLICABILITY COLUMNS COLUMN_PRIVILEGES KEY_COLUMN_USAGE PROFILING ROUTINES SCH...

Re: How to Backup a Database

in your image above you show "extended inserts" checked, uncheck that and the rest are just fine. Thanks. So I've backed up my database that consists of 67 files. And then I followed the same procedure to the second database called information_schema , which consists of 17 files. Am I correct in as...

Re: How to Backup a Database

I find it much better and safer to go ahead and do the phpmyadmin backup ( or whatever your host provides ) than to rely on the ACP backup or have to always open the backup file to check it. I do want to be safe as possible. So from the snapshot of my phpMyAdmin, could you tell me how to fix my sel...

I'm glad that you said so because it somehow entered my mind that I had to do the backup the hard way.

Thanks.
