Re: [BETA] Camo SSL Image Proxy

Using the camo SSL Image Proxy extension without camo For phpBB installations where it is difficult to set up a camo proxy (e.g. shared hosting), or just for testing purposes, the extension can be configured to use other proxy services. I have successfully used https://cloudinary.com (no affiliatio...

Re: SSL for phpBB

you may want to leave the remote avatar option off until a possible ext is developed. Camo SSL Image Proxy (v1.1.0) already handles this, either by url rewriting directly to the hosting server (where the hosting server supports https) or by rewriting via a proxy server. No editing of core files req...

Re: Host Change - Forum wont restore- 3.1.10

You have not really described what the symptoms are - what do you see that is not correct?

Your forum won't work correctly until you import your backed-up database, as (almost) all of the configuration settings are stored in the database.

Re: SSL for phpBB

The above advice, although correct, assumes that your web server has already been configured to use your certificate (which may or may not be the case). What happens if you try to access your forum with https:// at the beginning of the url? You will probably also find that pages with external images...

Re: phpBB Multiforum

I run 2 forums on the same Linux/Apache/Mysql VPS server. 1 of the forums is fairly busy, the other fairly quiet. Set up a virtual web sever (on a different domain or sub-domain) for each forum. Put a copy of phpBB for each forum in its own directory and point the virtual web servers at it. Give eac...

Re: Subscription Groups For 3.1.X With autogroup

I would agree that the paypal donation extension mentioned above can probably be configured to do what you want. You might want to customise the button on the header so that it says something other than "Donation", or disable that button and link to the donation page via another page that explains t...

Re: How to force HTTPS?

Hi, I'm web master for a swedish model railroad phpBB forum https://www.modulsyd.se/forum_new/ with phpBB version 3.1.10. HTTPS works, but I want to force HTTPS even if the user is following a HTTP link. I have read this topic and changed the .htaccess file in the root folder of the server, and it ...

Re: [alpha] Camo SSL Image Proxy

... create a new directory named `phpbb` (if it does not already exist) I may be wrong about this but to the best of my knowledge only extensions created by the phpBB extensions team can use "phpbb" as the vendor name. This extension was created by the phpbb team. I have added the ACP configuration...

Re: [BETA] Camo SSL Image Proxy

Camo Proxy Installation This post contains notes on how I installed the camo proxy itself on Centos 6 / Apache. I only include it here because there are not many tutorials available on camo installation (and most of those assume the installation of Docker or other virtualisation). These instruction...

Re: [BETA] Camo SSL Image Proxy

Pre-requisites for Installation: You should have configured the web server that is serving your phpBB board to support the https:// protocol. There are plenty of resources on the web for helping with this. I recommend the free SSL certificates from https://letsencrypt.org. You also should have acce...

[ABD] Camo SSL Image Proxy

Extension Name: Camo SSL Image Proxy Note that this topic is describing V1.1.2 of the extension. An earlier version V1.0.1 has been around for a while (and is in use on the forum that you are reading now), but had hard-coded configuration, has never had a topic here and has never really been promot...

Is anyone using APCu cache? phpBB crash

We have been using APCu cache for a few months, and the speed is really good, but we have had a problem that I only just tracked down where the acl_options cache gets corrupted following a cache purge in the ACP. The forum recovers after an apache restart, which apparently causes the cache to be rel...

Re: Url rewriter extension for Camo image proxy

I have now created a pull request for a new version of https://github.com/phpbb-extensions/camosslimageproxy with an ACP and some other enhancements. I have moved the list of phpBB template locations into the database, which allows additional locations to be added in the ACP, which is required for o...

Re: Url rewriter extension for Camo image proxy

OK, that makes sense now.

So were you suggesting that I should submit improvements to https://github.com/phpbb/area51-phpbb3/ ... /sslAssets ?
