Thanks... I think it should be a base feature though. Hopefully in the next update if possible, if not then in 3.0.

How to change your vote?

How do you change your vote in a phpbb poll?

I searched for "change vote" but just got a blank page so am posting this question.

Re: VIP Code Mod

Just checking in to say that the VIP code mod from Albert has stopped ALL bogus Spam registrations...what a time saver. The mod was easy to add as well and I didn't need documentation to figure it out. All you need is Wordpad and Find/Replace to locate the exact spot you need to insert the code...t...

Yes, the VIP code mod has been working great for me for weeks. I haven't had any spam registrations. Now if only there was something that worked this well for email spam without any significant side-effects!

On one of my forums the spam has gotten so bad, that even with VC turned on, I have had to take on other moderators for the sole purpose of deleting all the trash. And even still I am constantly busy trying to delete all references to viagara, and ilegal child-porn, not to mention the rest of the J...

The built in visual confirmation system works pretty well for me ... deleting them is probably less of a hassle than installing one of the suggested mods ... Or maybe your forum hasn't been found by many of the spammers yet? To me spending 15 minutes installing a mod to keep the bot spam out is wel...

Re: Thank You

Albert, It was a pleasure editing those files with your software program. Naturally, I picked a different numerical VIP code. Could I have used a word or an alphanumeric string instead of a number? Would it have been case sensitive? I placed my VIP code in the user registration agreement. I also ch...

Thanks Albert, I assume then that I can safely edit html, php and tpl files with your editor. I also have some asp files that I need to modify next week. Will I also be able to do that with your CSE HTML Validator Lite? Are there any file types out there where I can't use your editor on them to rep...

I want to install this mod but have a question about editing in Notepad. When I open these files in Notepad, I'm distracted by the fact that the whole file is just one long string of characters. For some reason, the hard returns don't create new lines of code but show up visibly as characters. How ...

Albert Where did you put the code word itself for others to find. Could it be put on the same page (save a step for registrants) and achieve the same results. I put it I color on a web page - why not color on the Registration page. By the way on the Registration page all I have is Username, email a...

I turned off visual confirmation and haven't had any problems. It makes it easier for the user. The VIP mod stops all the spam registrations without the need for a visual confirmation (that doesn't really work anyway--at least not for me and not in its original form).

I installed and did exactly that. Tried but did not find it. You need instructions on what line to change. Remember we are not programmers. I had to uninstall until I could get the right place to change the code. Change this in the mod (the default VIP code) '2486' Change it to the VIP code you wan...

Take a look at the VIP mod in a text editor and look at the code. It's fairly simple to figure out what you have to do and change.

The MOD above doesn't follow the standard MOD guidelines. This doesn't affect functionality (in most cases), but may cause a problem if you have multiple templates/languages installed or if you want to use EasyMOD. I have made a more compliant version which you can find here: http://www.marshalrust...
