It makes it a bit more hassle for real people. I think it is unnecessary so why make it unnecessarily more difficult for users to register?

Besides, it wasn't doing me much good anyway.

Great. Let us know. So far the reports have been excellent.

You should be safe to turn off visual confirmation. I did. No problems yet.

OK.... I've had enough... :? I just upgraded to 2.0.21 and I'm still getting spammers. I get both bots and humans. I am spending considerable time removing these. Our BB does not have a lot of new members, if we got one new member a month, that would be the most. With that in mind, before upgrading...

This thread ought to be a sticky. Yes, this is a great thread. Spamming is a big problem. Marshalrusty , thanks for making the mod more compliant, although the changes significantly increase the size of the mod. I will just leave it the way it is as it's not really mine to change anyway. If it gets...

The visual confirmation wasn't doing much for me either. I did find a great simple mod that simply asks the user to enter a "VIP code" that is located on the support page. It's a little work for the user, but has stopped all spam users so far. I've disabled the visual confirmation too. If ...

Same here

I have the same problem with 2.0.11 and Firefox. I looked at the HTML and it seems that this is a Firefox bug since the correct value is there, but Firefox is replacing it.

In the example I posted, yes, the entire text was link text. If someone was blind, and their web browser was reading a list of links to them, they would know what "return to the topic" means but not what "here" means. "Here" and "Click here" are not good link ...

Easy suggestion for language

Here is an easy modification that should be done:

Link text should never be "here" or "click here".

For example, change things like this:
$lang['Click_return_topic'] = 'Click %sHere%s to return to the topic';
to
$lang['Click_return_topic'] = '%sReturn to the topic%s';

I think I understand the reasoning behind this now. The admin link is only displayed for admins... so by putting the two "br"s in the template file, the "br"s would always be displayed even if the admin link wasn't. By adding the "br"s to the link it is only displayed w...

Thanks, but shouldn't that information be displayed instead of a blank page?
