Re: Strange phpbb2 errors

Did you also see the announcement about the problem with PHP version 5.2.7? You need to move to a different version as soon as possible.

Re: DEBUG MODE SQL Error : 1064

If you were posting a message that contained a single quote, it should have been inserted with this query: INSERT INTO phpbb_topics (topic_title, topic_poster, topic_time, forum_id, topic_status, topic_type, topic_vote) VALUES ('\'test', 2, 1228680598, 26, 0, 0, 0) Note the backslash in front of the...

You need to correct the line in your file to remove...

Re: SQL Error : 1062 Duplicate entry

But, key 2 on the sessions table is supposed to allow duplicate entries... so your sessions table is crashed (damaged index). Script to repair/clear/alter sessions table Fixing MySQL 1016/1030/1034 errors The first is a script to JUST repair the sessions table. The second link is an article in the k...

Re: SQL Error : 5 Out of memory (Needed 1046556 bytes)

Out of memory errors need to be brought up to your host; they're outside the control of anything phpBB does. There IS a possibility you have a crashed table or two, but they will normally give a table crashed error, rather than out of memory. If you want, prior to asking your host, try repairing the...

Re: index.php redirecting to login.php

Your description would indicate that all forums are set to REG to view/read, so it tries to log them in to view. Check both the forum permissions and the group permissions.

Re: PROBLEM - Unable to delete private messages

The POST variable "sid" is clearly set within that page... so we know it's making it that far. But, somehow, it's either not being picked up when privmsg.php is re-entered after the confirmation, or something is changing or stripping the value. How much control do you have over this server? It might...

Re: PROBLEM - Unable to delete private messages

OK, I just created the user "phpbb2test", and tried to delete the welcome PM. Instead of the confirmation screen, I get: SECURITY ALERT » » » » CBACK CrackerTracker has detected a potential attack on this site with a worm or exploit script so the Security System stopped the script. If you can see th...

Re: PROBLEM - Unable to delete private messages

Did you do all the template patches to ALL your styles? The value of $sid would be passed as a POST variable. If your template for the confirmation screen does not have the hidden variable for "sid", that would cause this...

Re: Don't use Host Excellence/How to patch attach mod w/o shell?

If you're patching from .14 to current, your MODs are probably old and buggy, too. Ric's got the proper answer when going from that far back to current, because the patches at several points since .14 (.18 in particular, and .20 if I remember correctly) are rather horrendous to do by hand. Gather a ...

Re: PROBLEM - Unable to delete private messages

Well, that's the way it's supposed to look... (just went to one of my forums to test it). No error messages or log entries make it rather difficult to say how to proceed beyond this point... Have tried backing up the current copy of privmsg.php, copying an unmodified one in from the distribution arc...

Re: Can't add URL in post

phpBB3 does a much better job of "cleaning up" links that screw up Internet Exploder, so more leeway is allowed.

Re: PROBLEM - Unable to delete private messages

Yes, 2.4.5 seems to be the newest out there, and it's what I have installed on my system, too... but I am not using PHP5, either. When you delete the message, do you get a blank screen, or a "message deleted" screen that refreshes to your inbox again? Just after the attachment code's call to delete ...

Re: Couldn't delete auth access info after upgrade

DELETE FROM phpbb_auth_access WHERE group_id = ??? AND auth_mod = 0 Where the red question marks are, there should be a number; does this user have a user group associated with them? There are three main causes for problems related to groups: Your PHPBB version is prior to 2.0.18, and your site use...

Re: not sure what happen but....

That's a decision you can only make for yourself... ;)

I still have to wait for a couple of "must have" MODs to appear for v3 before I can move the majority of my sites to it.
