Re: UGH! Installation help please?

Database Server Hostname / DSN: Usually 'localhost', but not always. For example, mine was 'mySQL'. You can get that information from your host. Your Database Name: The name of the database that you are installing into. Database Username: The username you use to access your database. Same password ...

This pops up on your FAQ link:

Code: Select all

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /var/www/html/phpbb/faq.php on line 58
Can someone help her find that unexpected '<'? I've got to get to bed. :)

Lock each topic as it's posted. There will be no replies to bump them up, therefore they won't move. Create another forum for people to discuss the locked topics.

That's the only way it'll work the way you want without a MOD.

If you don't have any MODs installed, you can just download the full package here.

If you've got MODs installed that you don't want to install again, download the Code Changes (same link) and follow it just like any other MOD.

I'm not quite clear on what you mean by "anonymous forum". When your users are registered, they're not anonymous any longer. I'm guessing you're either 1. wanting everyone to post as a Guest, or 2. wanting everyone to be hidden. Your options in those cases are either disabling registration, or setti...

A quick note: Make a copy of your current overall_header.tpl and put it somewhere else, like your desktop. If you hit any errors after uploading a version that one of us has modified, you can always just replace it with your copy until the kinks are worked out. :)

Not in phpbb2.

The Beta version of phpbb3 has that feature, but it hasn't been released for live use yet. :)

A few questions first:

Are you running 2.0.21?
Have you modified overall_header.tpl at all?
Where exactly do you want the link - in the top line, in the second line, or in its own line?

I made one of my spare accounts a moderator, and I can't see the moderator forum with that either.

And I'm not sure how to make it work with a group...I don't want "Moderators" to be the moderator for each moderated forum...just individuals.

Moderator can't see moderator forum

I haven't made anyone a moderator in so long, I'm sure there's a step I'm missing... I went into her permissions and set the drop-down menu to "Is Moderator" on the forum she's to be a moderator in. The forum permissions for the moderator forum are as such: View-MOD Read-MOD Post-MOD Reply-MOD Edit-...
