Re: [DEV] Portal Extension for phpBB 3.1.x

I gather there are quite a few ways to do this but I don't remember which was the most effective..
The best method should be through the .htaccess but I'm not sure what the code is now that we use phpBB 3.1...

I will have to ask the dev guys as I'm not sure...

Your extension has the ability to place a bespoken module anywhere of the site, even on personalized pages Correct... but personalised pages as you call them may need tweaking.... This modules are displayed on group basis, in one place you can display a module or another in function of the group th...

Re: [DEV] Portal Extension for phpBB 3.1.x

I'm out of action for the minute... will check with the powers the be but I'm almost certain they will ask/suggest I reduce globals by rewriting some of the procedural code using a class structure... basically that's the only way to remove the rest of the global variables...

Re: [DEV] Portal Extension for phpBB 3.1.x

First off do you mean global moderator? there are no global admins? To my mind there are some anomalies with phpBB permissions... for example if you look at the first (default) forum created during the install process, you will note the admin & global moderators do not have specific permissions ...

Re: [DEV] Portal Extension for phpBB 3.1.x

A little while ago (somewhere in previous post I think) we cam across a similar issue... It appears, if you make any changes to the extension code (including updating any files), you must remove the extension, clear data and reinstall before the changes take effect... This goes for any extension, no...

Re: [DEV] Portal Extension for phpBB 3.1.x

Some of the blocks can have configurable data (the edit button is slightly different, it has an extra block icon), look at the centre blocks for examples... The more advanced blocks can contain variables and we can set these using its config file... A good example might be the Welcome Block as it co...

Re: [DEV] Portal Extension for phpBB 3.1.x

Re the clock.swf file... Find a clock.swf you like and upload to: ext/phpbbireland/portal/styles/prosilver/theme/images folder... and same for any other style you have installed... It's a bit of a shame you still have to copy images to all style even if an image is identical... I half expected phpBB...
