you should clean your database.
Not to go off topic but how does one go about "cleaning" their phpbb database - generally speaking?

Re: Only topic starter can see replies

Thanks warmweer, but that's not quite it. That one prevents others from seeing topics entirely. Well?? What's the point of having someone who is not the topic starter, know that the topic exists (since they can see the first post), see that there are x replies, the last one being made by user "...

Re: Only topic starter can see replies

I think that is what it does. It's just described a little bit backwards. Install it and see. You should note the amount of time it's taken that extension to get made though. If it doesn't do what you want, it's going to take a very long time. I have installed it. It's a great extension and extreme...

This old request describes it better: viewtopic.php?f=72&t=1108195

But I wouldn't need the visibility toggle.

Only topic starter can see replies

Hello all,

Is there an extension (or another way) to make it so that only the topic starter can see replies to a topic they have created?

Thanks!

Re: [DEV] Encrypted PMs

Keep in mind if there is no support for it here you need to support it yourself forever. ;) For sure, but that's my point - you may have to consider that responsibility at some point in time. Of course, you're always free to share whatever support you've secured privately, in order to continue the ...

Re: [DEV] Encrypted PMs

That said since this in an extension my biggest concern would be support going forward. This is not something you can back out of if support is dropped. That's an excellent point, but one that is also valid for every single extension out there. Granted this one has the potential to be particularly ...

personally, I would keep most of my PMs unencrypted, but in some special cases (like sending credentials) encrypt them.
Oh that is interesting. So are you saying that this extension may offer PM encryption as optional per message? That would be fancy ;)

Can you try to apply this fix, to see if it works: https://github.com/paul999/phpbb_2fa/co ... cacc9bf62b (I am not able to test rigth now, but I think it should fix it)
Applied the fix, but same behaviour, I'm afraid.

Re: [DEV] Encrypted PMs

nou nou, being a board founder/admin, you can (technically) easily get any user password while a user is logging in. Oh really? I did not know this. Ah well, I for one (I've never read anyone's PMs, ever) find a lot of appeal in this as you can offer secure messaging as a forum. Interesting for pla...

So, if a board admin owns all encryption keys, what can technically prevent the admin from decrypting encrypted PM?

Re: [3.2][DEV] phpBB two factor authentication

2FA doesn't work when the board is disabled. It requests an authenticator or backup code, and then returns to the index page with whatever message is set in the ACP.

This effectively locks out the admin account :)

(I'll go digging in the database now ;))
