You may want to check your board creation date, as the posts I looked at all started in 1970 Those are the "phantom posts" I'm talking about. They have no author, they're simply not real posts! Does anyone have any idea how a problem like this might arise? If I get an idea of how something like thi...

k its there. I can't see a problem at the moment... maybe if you tinker with the html options (turn HTML on/off) it may fix itself for now.

I'm not sure. And I see it's your forums, not just topics, that are missing.. perhaps you should check the Auth settings?

I'm guessing that they're being parsed in the wrong order somehow... I'd need to see your viewtopic.php files to see what might be wrong.

WTF is gonna happen when you click the link if the href is a username and nothing else?

I think you should change that to

Code: Select all

<a href="profile.php?u={USERNAME}">{USERNAME}</a>
or something else to suit your needs.

If you want it in the header, you can use the php in includes/page_header.php and export it into the template (overall_header.tpl). The methos for doing so is as follows: // IN PAGE_HEADER.PHP doyourphpstuff(); $newsticker = "store the output, including html, all into a single variable called newsti...

try repairing the phpbb_posts and phpbb_posts_text tables. Other than that, my only guess is that the topics were pruned by mistake.

Re: Reading a password?

however you can check it by using the decrypt_password() function in a phpbb file I think. There isn't such function. md5() cannot be decrypted (hence it is called hashing algorythm, not encoding algorythm). ah okay, my bad. I was thinking of the encode_ip() and decode_ip() functions I think.
