I'm 100% sure the answers are "en" and yes :). Let me just double check...

Language pack error upon forum update.

"phpBB : Could not locate valid language pack". Above is my error :). I've been setting up a "free forum" thing with ads - basically lots of forums with one set of files, and people can sign up for free. Anyway, it works fine on my main board, but on the second one I get the language not found prob...

Re: Same banner advert, different templates

I've got a banner ad in my overall header, and when I want to change it I edit the header code. I'd like to give my users a choice of templates, but don't want to have to edit each one to change the banner. Any suggestions on the best way to change the banner on all templates by just changing one f...

Please understand I don't like quadruple posting - I hate it and generally people who do it.

However if this is on page 3 of the support forums, being constantly pushed back, no-one'll ever answer it...

Re: A Dingo Ate My Database!

No, not really. That's a line from a crappy austrailan movie or something. Anyway, I keep getting this error message: phpBB : Critical Error Could not connect to the database Everything relying on a database on my server has an error message similar to this. I called tech support for Yahoo Web Host...

http://www.yoursite.com/path/to/forum/install/update_to_latest.php Replacing the obvious, of course. E.G. if your site is on http://www.myhosting.com/ and your forum is in phpBB/ you'd go too: http://www.myhosting.com/phpBB/install/update_to_latest.php Just in your browser :). And follow any instruc...

So, I would put the script into lets say the index.html file. Now... I would change the $phpbb_root_path = 'phpBB2/' to $phpbb_root_path = 'Forums/' (Which is where my forums are located) Then I get completely lost..... Lol, any chance for a walkthrough? And if I use this, will only administrators ...

I think I see the problem. Try going too http://www.yoursite.com/forum/templates/sittinpretty/images/ Sorry, but I don't understand these links you post. Domain site? Replace yoursite.com with your actual site name :). It tells me that there's a 403 error there - meaning forbidden. Look through you...

Thought I'd give this a BUMP. I've searched and I've seen a quite a few people having this problem since upgrading phpBB to the latest version - seems to be the common reason... Is there a hard coded fix anyone can think of? Personally, I have no idea how the language section works, so I wouldn't kn...

I used to have this problem on any phpBB forum I went too - I was using the internet in an apartment building, and my ip constantly changed while I was browsing - so it would auto log me out. Took me ages to work out what was going on, as I auto log in too most of my forums, so I didn't realise it w...

I believe phpBB don't support outside non validated mods. Your best bet is probably too ask for support on the site you got it. for the record though, it sounds like one of your new/edited scripts is redeclaring a function - did you copy/paste something by accident? Look in page_header.php, around l...
