There seems to be a bot attack from IP 202.143.123.245 currently taking place and you may wish to consider blocking this IP
Thanks David, good looking out 👍

Re: Do you use the 'save draft' feature?

No, we never use the Save Draft feature and have that turned off. We try to keep things to the minimum but it's a neat feature to have available, we just don't use it and neither do our visitors etc.

Re: Sitemap for your whole site in an easy way?

I would add that there is an argument that sitemaps are mainly intended for static pages and not dynamic ones such as phpBB. I have not seen any evidence that a sitemap for a phpBB board has made any difference with SEO but I will accept that someone may be able to prove the point. We use Screaming...

I deleted the .../cache/production folder and refreshed. It works now. Not sure how or what got corrupted.
Good work, I was going to suggest that as it happened to me before too :)

Re: What is the best host for phpbb forum?

We've been using Namecheap VPS for years. Cheapest and decent support and give you oodles of bandwidth and performance for the price. You do get a lazy support person once in a while but they always do their best to help or escalate the matter if there is one.

Try them out.

Re: BBcode for No-follow attribute

Since last month's update, Google no longer respects the nofollow link attribute. I guess it's okay if members tend to post shady links up etc. but for most sites there's not much point of nofollow-ing links now. What if I have tens of thousands of outbound links in my forum though? Won't all that ...

Re: BBcode for No-follow attribute

I want a custom bbcode for nofollow attributes, so if my users want they can make the post urls no-follow. If anybody will be kind enough to provide me the code then it will be really helpful. Since last month's update, Google no longer respects the nofollow link attribute. I guess it's okay if mem...

Re: Site Favicon Missing In Google Search Results

Unfortunately our Favicons are still not showing in any Google search results. We even moved the Google code to the very top of the head in the file and used search console to resubmit our site map to Google to try to get them to crawl again, but still no change on the favicon issue. If we search i...

Re: Site Favicon Missing In Google Search Results

Thanks. I have changed it to 48 now on our server. Let's give a few more days and see. How did it go for you? We're having similar issues on our site. For us, Google has reverted back to a very old Favicon which we have completely removed from our server years ago so it seems there is a bit of an i...

Re: How often should you Resynchronize PhpBB forums?

All this is irrelevant to the topic but thanks for your concern. It is relevant, because some people will not help you if the copyright is not present on your board. It's irrelevant because I'm not looking for any help. I use the function as it is without issues. I'm only starting a discussion abou...

Re: How often should you Resynchronize PhpBB forums?

that style is by christian 2.0 I really doubt he would have left the phpbb copyright off. robert Probably removed by one of our developers. It's never been there for me since 2016 and we credit phpBB in our "who are we" section with a dofollow link anyway. All this is irrelevant to the to...

Re: How often should you Resynchronize PhpBB forums?

I've only found any actual need to do so once - quite recently. Hyperlinks to posts that were returned from the search results page occasionally weren't hitting the correct page and so the post identified through searching was not displayed (you had to find it manually by going to the previous page...

How often should you Resynchronize PhpBB forums?

I've always wanted to know, how often should we be resynchronizing forums? :?
Personally, I've been making it a habit to resynchronize every week or two (especially after posts are deleted, topics moved etc).

How often do you guys resynchronize?

Re: use phpBB to start a Community?Still in 2020

Is a phpBB forum still the way to go to have people communicate, share and hopefully make a community grow? Thanks maiden Of course it is. Despite the rise of social media, forums are flourishing. People will always go to forums for information. It's reliable and you can find the info you need easi...
