For single script to multi forum, you were using different table prefixes to differentiate forums. Wouldn't it be easier to have one table prefix but different database? This way, you can install phpBB with one database, then just duplicate the database to something else. The config.php trick was gr...

If you are hosting the forum using a webserver service, then you can ask them about their SMTP configuration. If you are hosting using your own machine (maybe connected to cable?), then you can try to use your ISP's SMTP configuration, the same like what you use for sending email. For this, you can ...

Try do SQL (hopefully you have access to the database).

DELETE FROM `phpbb_users` WHERE user_id BETWEEN [begin] [end];

This will work ok if those 1400 users were registered almost at the same time sequence.

As a side note, it is still possible to have 473 users and 12859 most users. Don't forget that Guests are counted too. :)

If you want to put phpbb on your ISP webspace, then make sure that your ISP support both PHP and mySQL (or any other database). I think most webspace that come with user account in most ISP didn't do SQL database. If your ISP gave you webspace with PHP and SQL support, then you should also be given ...

it is hosted on t35.com and I use an external database host. Changing the config does not seem to work, because there are no new tables in PHPMyAdmin. Are you sure that's all you have to do? Changing the config, as in using ACP and/or editing config.php? Nope, can't do that. You need to do install....

&& means AND, which is what you asked.
However, it is impossible (or is it?) for a user to be both ADMIN && MOD. So that's why I put in OR instead.

-edit-

So, the / itself that broken the code?

Hmm.. usually permission stuff is needed before you can do passwordd protect. Anyway.. Ignoring the chmod/permission, you should able to run install.php if your database connection is made. Having phpmyadmin will surely helps. Make sure you created the database, and assigned a new user priviledge to...

You meant like in the if statement? ( ($userdata['user_level'] == ADMIN) OR ($userdata['user_level'] == MOD) ) -edit-add- If you turn on "double up as survey", when a user plays a quiz it will say which question was choosen most. If you think its the ' sign then just type in /' and see if that does ...

Could not connect to the database Eh? That's an entirely different thing! Seems like your webserver setup is not correctly connected to the database server setup, and/or you haven't created your database correctly. Your controlpanel/filemanager is your webhost control panel? Then you should not do ...
