Re: Change user default profile settings!

For the email issue, see https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3.2/kb/article/changing-user-options-defaults-and-values/ The value you want to change is user_allow_viewemail. Hi, Thanks so much for your reply. Is this option an one time change or something we have to keep performing after every upd...

Re: Change user default profile settings!

See Maximum nesting depth for quotes: Maximum quote nesting depth in a post. Set to 0 for unlimited depth. In post settings Thanks for your reply. value 0 seems "unlimited depth", what i want is zero quotes. Are both the same? Is it possible to simply remove the quote option as at times we want to ...

Change user default profile settings!

Hi all, under user control panel > global settings there is an option "Users can contact me by email:", is there an option to set this by default to no, so only those users who want to be contact by email (from other users) can set it to yes manually. Also is there an option to globally disable quot...

[SPLIT] Update to 3.2.4

Same here, while performing an update i simply do step-by-step what is given on the kb - https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3.2/kb/article/updating-32x/ And from some suggestions here i nowadays simply overwrite all the files than trying other options like "overwrite only if newer" etc. But redes...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.4 Release

Bertie does look cute. Might have one some day. :) Yeah, I'm thinking about buying one once they get the warehouse issue sorted. I have an Intel doll I bought on eBay and Bernie will sit next to him on my bookshelf. I also collect Funko Pop dolls from different things I'm interested in. Primary fro...

Hi, all. I want to know if i have to make this update as an emergency/critical one or can wait for a few weeks before performing the update? :) It's a security update which fixes a security issue. We recommend you update as soon as possible. The details of the security problem itself are in the Ann...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.4 Release

Thanks so much Marc and PHPBB for the new release. Actually i wanted to move from 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 this weekend and was confused as all discussion posts were from past few days and when i checked the first post saw Marc's announcement dated 2 days back (17 Nov) and only then realised 3.2.4 was releas...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.4 Release

So who is Bertie and what is a stache? I see the name Bertie used all the time with updates. Our proud Mascot, and fierce leader of the troops. For some flashy images, see: https://www.phpbb.com/shop/ :) Well how be damned. I guess a bunch of Bertie's got flood damaged at the warehouse....

Re: Private Discussion on Forum?

You should not use user permissions for this. Use groups, even if the group has only one member. Hi, assuming other admins and mods with little or no technical knowledge and under the following scenario, please let me know if this work on a long time basis, Query.png -- This sounds pretty simple as...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.3 Release

Yes, i too found this the hard way by losing a few hours to a days worth post due to no proper backups. Probably something could be preventing the "automatic updates method " in some forums and more and more research can reveal how to successfully perform automatic updates but for a sure-shot method...

Re: Update from phpBB 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 - database does not go offline

Do not use the Automatic update package. Do this - Knowledge Base - Updating 3.2.x I too tried using "Automatic update package" while i was updating from 3.2.1 to 3.2.2 and after numerous tries (probably something on my forum caused it) and losing a few hrs posts had to try this "Full Package" meth...
