Sorry dude, but with that kind of attitude is not one that encourages any one around here to help you. We are very big on helping those who attempted to help themselves first.

That is why you are getting this bug. It has been fixed in RC-1.

Did you get RC-1 or RC-1 (pre)? The latter had this bug which was supposedly fixed in RC-1.

But then, I never encountered this bug since I found it better to just rename the category and forum to whatever I needed.

What timezone is the forum set to? What timezone is your user profile set to? phpBB2 uses both of these settings and the server clock to calculate the correct time for the user. By default, both the forum and the first Admin user account timezones are set to GMT.

The Euclid template has not been fully updated to RC-1. It is recomended that you don't use them unless you want to fix the problems yourself.

One way would be to upgrade to 1.4.4 first, then run the upgrade script to phpBB2. Of course, if you don't want to touch your old db, then you can always do a freash install.

You can create a usergroup for them and set it so that it can have access to the forum. This is particularly handy if you don't want to give them MOD privilages to the forum.

In posting_body.tpl, look for:

Code: Select all

<input type="text" name="subject" size="45" maxlength="100" style="width:450px" tabindex="2" class="post" value="{SUBJECT}" />
Then change the value of maxlength to the desired number of characters.

Upgrading phpBB2 RC-1 (pre) to phpBB2 CVS

Trigga, don't take this personally. But everyone is sick and tired of seeing the same fucking questions posted 3-5 times a day by people who are too lazy to do their own research.

I noticed this same problem on the PWS I have installed on my local system. For some reason IE6 does not completely render the page correctly. I do know it has something to do with gzip compression as I didn't see the problem until I enabled the zlib extention in PHP and turn compression on in the p...

I happen to agree with Black Pit on this one. Navigator 4.x was the biggest piece of crap inflicted on the web. It was three times buggier then anything Microsoft ever produced and its adherence to HTML 3.1 and especially CCS1 was far less.

Based on that, I would say . . . NO!
