News update: automation testing is in final stages, once that's done the 2.0 release of this mod will be released to the mod team for review. Looks like 2 days until then.

Update: automation version of this mod is still in dev. Sorry for the delay guys, I'm deep in a few projects. I was hoping the 1.2.0 version would be validated by now....I guess they have a ton of stuff going on. Anyway, My current highest priority project is almost done, so I will finish this updat...

Version 2.0.0 (in current development) will have the auto prune function. Version 1.2.0 (still in mod team review) sets up for the 2.0 release. You may distribute the mod as long as all copyright and existing information is left in the code. Actually I encourage people to bundle it in this fashion t...

I have an update to the mod in testing right now, it does not cover the automation addition, but is a redo of the method of deleting users to more fully remove them from the database and to support some other features to be put in the automation release (listing of users deleted and other informatio...

The Prune forums area was another thing I've been looking at for setting up automation, and actually looks very likely as the way to go. Once you start looking at deleting already registered users there are a ton of new things that need to be looked at: do you want their posts deleted also? Do certa...

Thank you Akehla, I found myself in the same situation on my forum so that's why I made the mod.

I'm still looking into how I'm going to design the automated portion of the mod. I hope to have something in Beta testing by next week.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've also discovered some interesting techniques, like the one here: www.bitfolge.de/pseudocron used in this mod: http://www.phpbb.com/styles/forum/viewtopic.php?t=371425&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=556fcf9c3a8a7aa25004253a6a65e9e3. This looks like a possible sol...

Version 1.1 (currently in review by mod team) corrects for that possibility. It should be up here soon I hope.

Can user_lastvisit and user_session_time be reset to 0 ?

can either user_lastvisit or user_session_time in the users table ever be reset to 0 by an admin action if they have ever had a value? A mod I've written needs to find a way of determining between a de-activated or unactivated user. (so the difference between a user who registered and never activate...

The mod is designed to only delete users who register but never actually activate their accounts. If a user registers, then clicks the registration link in the email they receive, they won't be affected and won't be deleted even if they never actually log in to their account. Most spammer bots simpl...

Automation....hmmmm, I'm not sure how to directly go about automating a process like this. Nothing in phpbb actually "runs" as such to hook into.

Are any functions set to do something on a periodic basis without user input?

As it is set currently the mod simply deletes any accounts that were created but never activated based on how long ago you set the timeframe. The maximum timeframe right now is set to one month, but it can easily be set to any time frame by adding a new select statement in the code. If there is enou...
