Introducing The New Languages Section

Creating communities around the world The number of language packs created by our devoted team of Translators was always a key part of phpBB's success. We are aware of this, so in the past months, we've been developing a new system to store and offer translations. What's new? Following the introduc...

Re: SPAMMERS! Remove searchable PHPBB references?

Perhaps, but Dog Cow's forum is supposedly using phpBB, but it looks difficult to tell. He has a User-Friendly URL mod (so no viewtopic/viewforum), there's no Docs directory (which installation suggests removing anyway) and you can't see into the styles folder (he uses a custom style), plus there's...

Re: SPAMMERS! Remove searchable PHPBB references?

Removing phpBB from the footer won't help. There are countless other ways to identify a phpBB board (without phpBB even being mentioned anywhere). - Adam Can you please explain how someone can tell if a forum software is using phpbb even if it look nothing like phpbb? Is there some url that someone...

Re: Script Path Security

The script path has nothing to do with security. It's just the directory in which you have phpBB installed.

Re: Ranking in Google

Google will take a look at your whole domain, i.e. all the pages of your board if he can find them. In order to let it find them, you will have to attract it's attention. The best way to do this is to get natural backlinks from other sites. If Googlebot visits regularly, the next stop is content. Yo...

Unfortunately it is abandonded. There is a link on the last page you might test. I cannot however give you any guarantee about its functionality.

Re: Cookie Problem?

I do have SIDs on the first page load (that is caused due to phpBB not having a way to check if cookies are enabled in one request), but then it's ok and cookies are used. Your cookie settings are correct.

Re: 2 problems :(

1) Your store/ directory is probably not writable. CHMOD it to 777. I would recomend you to edit the files by hand, you have more control over them. You can find language files in language/hr/

2) What MOD is it? Where did you change what?

Re: Version and Running Slow

I looked at the file you sent me by PM. It's alright, there is no error in it. There is also no way that such a change in config.php could cause the symptoms you describe. It's just a dumb configuration file which tells the board where to look for the board's data. Are you sure you have not changed ...

Re: Not able to login in Admin panel

Why have you removed those lines? :)

Put them back and then clear the contents of the cache/ directory (leave only index.htm, .htaccess and queue.php)
