Maybe it's my newbieness to this toolkit, but how do I get it to delete all users with 0 posts? It's nice that I can list ...

Ok guys that was the problem. Now strange, as I have to manualy select add signature each time I post? There must be another option for it to be on default somewhere.

Missing signature?

I put a signature in my profile field yesterday. But today I noticed when I post it doesn't show up. However, the other admins on my forum have had their signatures show up fine.

I'm a bit puzzled, especially since I am the head admin and installed the forum in the first place.

But let's face it, the ban control in phpBB isn't very easy to manage. It would be much easier if an administrator had appropriate options, such as deleting usernames and their related posts, banning IPs etc. from within viewing the forums. I was thinking the same thing! But after some more thought...

On one of my forums the spam has gotten so bad, that even with VC turned on, I have had to take on other moderators for the sole purpose of deleting all the trash. And even still I am constantly busy trying to delete all references to viagara, and ilegal child-porn, not to mention the rest of the JU...

I tried their installer and yes, it screwed me over more than once. The problem was I was a phpbb newbie, and they had this as though it was some big feature and easy to use. hah!! And no kidding!! The thing is never less than 12 months out of date! This from a PROFESSIONAL company? Don't get me sta...

There are also reports that actual people are doing the registration, then turning usernames and passwords over to a posting bot. _____ From my own observations with phpBB, this is what I believe to be the case also. I used to wonder what inspires humans with so much hate as to burn others as witch...

I wonder how many cents a spammer gets per spam post.

- In order to prevent them from register : I added the visual confirmation code... But they decoded it ! So I changed it... Just add some random lines through the final image, and it worked (but I think that it will not be difficult for the guys who made the "decoding" script to hack this...). I al...

Last time I got hacked and had to dump it all, was when Ipowerweb had an INTERNAL virus/worm and it took them a week to figure it out.

No way to retrieve it for them. As the passwords in phpbb are all encrypted in the database. Just to be sure, you mean it's done using unix one-way encryption, then placed into the .sql file? Assuming it was a simple word, you could run a few progs on it to still find matches. I forget what they ar...

As I cleared out the server I found a file called Thumbs.php in a folder with some jpegs. It was a C99shell backdoor trojan!

Sneaky bastards. I'm going to add this to my notes for future reference if I have any issues again myself.

No one really wants to do that anymore. Too much spam posts that it would just look more unprofessional than anything.

It was anther great concept that doesn't work too well in practice.
