Re: New Posts since last visit

also, disabling an extension does not lose any settings for that extension. it just disables it so you can see if the board is working properly without it. once you have done the testing and you have enabled them all again, any data that was associated with the extension is still there with no prob...

Re: New Posts since last visit

You came here looking for help but won’t act on the advice given to you Kinerty, that’s down to you but you are wasting peoples (private) time. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen you act the same way. I appreciate all the help I have ever gotten here immensely. I'm not sure why you take my respons...

Re: New Posts since last visit

The point is, whether or not you need the extension, is irrelevant. The test is to disable them all and see what happens. If the issue goes away you know it’s an extension so you add them back one at a time until the issue returns then you know what’s causing it. If it makes no difference it’s not ...

Re: New Posts since last visit

I tried disabling a couple of them but the rest I'd really rather not live without.

Could it be something else?

New Posts since last visit

This feature seems to be a little quirky as if it seems to randomly re-set itself. My experience with it on other forums was always that it showed everything new since my last visit. I guess I could live with if it only showed what was new "today" meaning only posts from the current date would show,...

Adding a "Forum Image"

In the ACP under "Forums" there is a setting called " "Forum image: Location, relative to the phpBB root directory, of an additional image to associate with this forum." I tried adding an image using this URL: https://www.mywebsite.com/images/myimage.jpg I get the message: Warning: The specified for...

When you test a user's permissions You are still You. Since you did not ban You, You are still able to access the board.
That makes sense. I thought I would at least see the "banned" message, but I get why I didn't.

Testing user permission on banned user

I just banned a user for spamming my board. Previously when this has happened I followed the ban by deleting the user entirely. But it occurred to me that maybe that was stupid because I want the user to know they were banned and if I delete them they would not get the message. So after I banned thi...

Re: Another Attachment Issue

it is pretty simple. you use ftp to access your server. you find the file listed in the instructions and download it to your computer. you use a good text editor and open the relevant file. you find the line of code it tells you to find. you make the edits it tells you to make. you save the file an...

Re: Another Attachment Issue

Have you applied the fix from the "Known Issues" sticky at the top of this forum? No I haven't. You mean this: 2018-05-21 02.52.50 pm.jpg Sorry to ask, but is there some way you could kinda walk me through this? I haven't worked with the code like this before. Would really love to get this problem ...
