I'm installing a 2nd forum, www.mysite.tld/phpBB2 or not?

Hi

I'm current installing a second forum on my database and after uploading all the unzipped files into a directory called forum2, the doc says to point my bowser to www.mysite.tld/phpBB2.

Should i do this or browse another location? I dont want to mess up my 'live' forum!

Thanks

A 2nd forum/database?

Hi,

I wanted to setup a second phpbb forum on my website/domain so I could practice adding the Mods I want to add to my 'real' forum. I spoke to my host and they said I require a second database and wanted 10 pounds.

Do I have to do it this way?

Many thanks!

Record users downloads?

Hi,

I have a site which contains video's for download (via yousendit ) and have a problem with people just joining to get them.

Is there a Mod available which can record the files users have downloaded at all?

Many thanks!

I see evryone's point but wonder whats to stop them using their priviliged access to information to to start their 'own thing'. I have marketing strategies etc discussed in the forum. I am thinking to have a seperate hidden forum for each moderator.

Thanks guys. Good points. I'm worried as I have exclusive news published on the site and don't want anyone ripping off the content for their own purpose's/ventures. Do you think I am going too far? I don't want to leave myself open.

Again, thanks for your valuable feedback. :D

I know there is easymod to use. I'll have to look into it. There are some real useful ones I've seen.

Thanks a lot! The problem is that I want to set it up to watch the Moderators actions. Making the moving of posts to a trashcan voluntary kind of defeats the object. Could I just switch off the moderators ability to delete posts so the only option they would have is to infact move the unwanted posts...

Deleted posts/thread to a Trashcan?

Hi,

Is it possible to setup a Trashcan so that any posts/threads deleted by moderators would get sent there instead of just being gone forever. I have a couple of new moderators and would like to keep an eye on them.

Thanks! :D

Moderator agreements?

Hi Do any of you Admins get your Moderators to 'sign' an agreement on how they will perform their roles, duties and act on your site? I have a fairly new site but have some good new members who appear would make excellent mods but me being mr paranoid would ike to get something concrete with them. A...
