Allow users to delete their own post

I'd like to allow my users to delete their own post even when other users have posted after them . It seems giving the "Allow users to delete their own post" permission is not enought to do this. I found this old thread where there is a quick mod to fix this, but unfortunately it seems the .php file...

Re: "Decode" a post from .sql file

Probably because there have been new posts made since the deletion. But it's a very good question because if the number of deleted posts is higher than the number of new posts, it would be better to backup the live board, restore the backup from before the deletion, then copy the new posts into the...

Re: "Decode" a post from .sql file

I also tried to run the database on localhost, but it's an endless nightmare with errors everywhere. Also, i don't want to try to manually edit the database, i have no experience in these thinks and i don't want to break something. It's not important to replace exactly every post with the same date ...

"Decode" a post from .sql file

I accidentally deleted a few posts from my forum. I have a backup so i'm trying to recover them from the .sql database backup file. I opened the .sql file with a text editor and I found the posts I lost. The only problem it's that they are encoded in a particular format, for example there are string...

Ignore a topic

I'd like an extension that allows users to ignore a topic. There was an old extension that did it, but now it's not maintained and it doesn't work on recent versions of phpbb, but maybe you can find it useful: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=434&t=2104240 Here is a recent discussion ...

Re: phpbb default style re-design

Hi New.New, you must be new around here ;) This topic was started way back in 2014 and well before the we had a mobile responsive theme for phpBB by default. Your right, the actual prosilver theme is perfect... now that its responsive :) ops, i didn't look at the date  But, for example, i saw...

Re: phpbb default style re-design

I don't agree, the actual prosilver style is perfect, and works fine also on smartphones. I don't understand this trend to transform everything in a shitty app-like design with less features (or difficoult-to-find features). A forum is a forum, it's not a shitty app, if you want that simply use a te...

Re: Ignore a thread

sorry, but why not just don't look at the topics ( there are no threads in phpbb ) that you are not interested in. quick and easy. robert Yes, sure it is possible, and the lack of this feature is not an enormous problem, but i think this can be an useful feature in some cases. Because we can say th...

The "logical behavior" that comes to mind for me, for what it's worth:
Yeah, it seems reasonable.

Re: Change the background colour of pinned topics

It worked, thanks.
Is there some documentation where i can find what code is needed to change the color of a part of the layout? So i don't have to open a new topic every time.

Change the background colour of pinned topics

Is it possible to change the background colour of pinned topics? Something like that (sorry fo the shitty image but i think it gives an idea): https://i.imgur.com/5gqqt2q.jpg If it's possible, I'd like to change it only in the topic listing where browsing the forum, and not in "unread post" listing ...

Re: Ignore a thread

I'll be developing something like this soon, maybe. It would make it so that foes don't exist on your forum, and I'm still deciding whether that means that their topics don't show up in the forum. Good, send me a pm if you'll do it. For "don't show up" i'd suggest to completely delete the thread fr...

Re: Disable smilies

Thanks for your answers. I understand EA117's point, it's not good to simply delete a part of the message. So i have 2 options: 1) leave the caracters but don't convert them to images 2) show an alert if a user tries to post a message with emojis I see you posted some code for both solution, but i d...

Re: Ignore a thread

Of course, that idea would have to be worked out properly. For instance; if there were notifications originating from such topics (mentions, quotes, etc.), should those be ignored as well? And what if I have posted once in some slowchat topic that I don't want to follow anymore and choose to ignore...
