Re: problems with transparent png's

...edited the colour.css files in Notepad++...downloaded it through ftp, saved a copy, edited it, and uploaded it. Everything worked a treat. That's great, glad the issue was identified and easily resolved. I did have to CTRL-F5 to see the fix at this end, and so you might still need to suggest tha...

Re: problems with transparent png's

I think I am beginning to understand. Is this extension the culprit then? I didn't intentionally make those drawings thumbnails, and now that I think about it many of the pngs that did work are small and may go back beyond a certain date...possibly before I installed Lightbox. Thumbnails are someth...

Those forums don't allow for public display of the attachments, but I have a user account registration pending if you want to approve that long enough so that I can view them to take a look.

Re: php warnings, cant access forum?

Yes, those session.php line number offsets match expected offsets for phpBB 3.2.0. And indeed, phpBB 3.2.0 is not compatible with PHP 7.2, and required PHP 7.2 fixes which were delivered in phpBB 3.2.2 and later. Updating to phpBB 3.2.8 would be a great way to address the issue, rather than backing ...

Re: problems with transparent png's

A link to where you see this issue happening. Since if it's the CSS on the site, or if the image data being served by the site isn't PNG for whatever reason, no amount of "showing us the image" or "attaching the original image" is going to clarify that. If even you are only seeing the issue when the...

Re: spoiler for mods only?

Perhaps create another subforum for mods only. I'm assuming that is the crux of the issue being addressed. The "protected spoiler" tag would be used by users who are not moderators or members of the special group, in order to designate specific sensitive information that can only be read by someone...

Re: problems with transparent png's

So on just one site (your site) the PNG image with a transparent background will not show as transparent, but when you post that same PNG file to some other web site (not your site) it correctly displays transparent. We probably need a link to the example of "does not correctly display when posted t...

Re: How do you guys search for parts in HTML files?

Regarding Notepad++ and unexpectedly blank files, I've never encountered that myself. But I see https://github.com/notepad-plus-plus/notepad-plus-plus/issues/6153 which suggests that others users have seen that kind of result, and it's being attributed to the automatic backup feature. (And https://g...

Re: Force HTTPS for sub-directory?

Also try adding [L,R=301] to the end of the RewriteRule line: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301] Redirecting the web browser to make a new connection over HTTPS requires the hard redirect ( R ), and there is no need to continue pro...

Re: Does my forum look responsive to you

Ah, yes that does make more sense now what kind of report is being made. I can't see into your Google Search Console, of course, but Google's Mobile-Friendly Test didn't appear to think anything was wrong with the responsiveness of the page when I tested it . I don't think there is anything wrong wi...

Re: ACP and mod_security

... mod_security blocks the access to the ACP with a 403. Is there any solution to this ? You may already realize this, but "mod_security" is not some kind of static "just need to write your application to be compatible with it" concept. It's more similar to a virus scanner, where every day (or at ...

Yet the same code seems to make Google happy for the 728x90 banners on the site, any ideas what to do. Not sure that I understand. Re: What Is Your Attitude Towards Styles And Future phpBB Upgrades?

Incompatibility between 3.2.7 core and pre-3.2.7 themes would cause an error on login. Agreed. Also, further affirming the "they're not really intended to break styles", the security issue that was fixed between phpBB 3.2.5 and phpBB 3.2.6 didn't need to break all the styles, but was initially impl...
