Re: [BETA] Filter by country - version 1.0.8

You too might have already seen https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=496&t=2527936 and had the same thought. Filter by Country would be in the position to create a template variable for every page (or at least every page it wasn't filtered from handling) which reveals the information lear...

Re: App.php - Rewrite subdomain

...you want someone who enters http://example.pgreca.it/ to be sent to http://pgreca.it/app.php/example/ Okay, understood; thanks for the confirmation. Your question still appears to be specific to "how do I perform the DNS-level or web server-level redirect needed to make example.pgreca.it redirec...

Re: App.php - Rewrite subdomain

I'm not sure I understand completely or correctly yet. Perhaps someone else who knows more about the routing behavior can recognize what you're asking or intending to accomplish. It seems like you're describing something similar to what phpBB's own default .htaccess rule does. e.g. If you make a req...

Re: reparse post_text manually with SQL in .php script

What the reparser does is almost exactly what happens when someone clicks "Edit" then re-save a post. The reparser expects posts from <=3.1 and >=3.2, and posts from 3.1 were stored in a format that's very close to plain text. In short, in almost 100% of the cases you can feed it plain text (i.e. u...

Re: reparse post_text manually with SQL in .php script

Why not? Because of the re parsing conditions described in my post. Even with the "allows administrators to instantly reparse individual posts" button you're describing, the code would be re parsing a message which has been parsed before . In OP's case being discussed here, "raw user input" was bei...

Re: reparse post_text manually with SQL in .php script

You can call the s9e reparser in a script and use $reparser->reparse_range($begin_post_id, $end_post_id); Something I didn't know the answer for, which had come to mind of both this and the earlier phpbbcli.php reference: Will re parsing actually get the needed job done here? Have definitely used t...

Re: Error converting from mybb 1.8.20 to phpbb

Nice; glad that worked out for getting through the conversion. For anyone who comes across this later and needs to create the same "mybb18_convertor_1.0.2 but without the attempt to convert the AIM profile field" set of files, it really was as straight-forward as just removing this line from the con...

Re: Need Help Turning Smilies Into A Hidden Panel

Do you know if it is possible to adjust the size of the Smilies on the "more smilies page" only? I didn't see anything relevant in posting.php Agreed. The "more smilies page" template is posting_smilies.html, because it's its own stand-alone page. That is the template used to display the one or mor...

Re: Need Help Turning Smilies Into A Hidden Panel

If it's not already something you're aware of, the phpBB smilies configuration lets you pick and choose which smilies should appear on the posting page itself. Any smilies not enabled for the posting page itself are "hidden" behind a "more smilies" link which then opens a window showing all of them....

Re: update 3.2.5 to 3.2.8 failed blank screen

I too would be initially trying the approach of just uploading & overwriting the existing /ext/phpbb/mediaembed extension files and then clearing the /cache/production folder. Not because "that's the correct way to upgrade an extension", but because the board is currently inaccessible, and this appr...

Re: update 3.2.5 to 3.2.8 failed blank screen

I don't know why there is a message that the extensions are updated because the are not. I had questioned that before too, but never bothered to look until now. Looking at /phpbb/install/module/update_database/task/update_extensions.php it appears that the "update extensions" action occurring when ...

Re: update 3.2.5 to 3.2.8 failed blank screen

White screen only when I try to access the board. This symptom (a blank page) is typically associated with status 500 being returned from the web server in response to the request, which is a response that can occur when a PHP code execution failure occurs. And I can confirm that when attempting to...

Re: user_avatar hash type?

So I tried to add the avatarpicture in the user_add($user_row); but I still have to calculate the hash and rename the filename itselt "2.png" to the hashvalue, otherwise it won't work. That is correct, and is what was described. Everything still has to be done "manually", regardless of whether you'...

Re: user_avatar hash type?

When I upload an avatar, 2.png for my user (admin with id 2) the filename becomes 3f13a61d627537772b2c3f5141ba052d_2.jpg what kind of hash is that and how do I reproduce that hash manually (by php-script) ? The answer to that question is still the same: "3f13a61d627537772b2c3f5141ba052d" is not a h...

Re: user_avatar hash type?

That hash is actually of a one-time "md5(mt_rand())" set as the "avatar_salt" value in the phpbb_config table. So you don't need to "calculate" this portion of the name at all; it will simply be retrieved from the database.
