Firefox confuses username and e-mail when storing passwords

Hi, I've noticed that Firefox confuses username and e-mail when storing passwords. I.e. when it stores password, it uses e-mail as a username, so it obviously will not work. This does not happen in Chrome. I've tested it in Firefox ver.63.0.3 (64-bit) and this is also true when I register here (on p...

Re: Possible fix when e-mails sent via phpBB are treated as spam

thanks for your replies, my host (FastComet) suggested I use SMTP via their server which is "uk6.fcomet.com". I'm not sure if this is the "localhost" solution that was mentioned by EA117. Anyway, I use SSL for SMTP authentication. Interestingly, I was now able to test the e-mails sent by phpBB on Si...

Possible fix when e-mails sent via phpBB are treated as spam

Hi All, I’m a fairly new user of phpBB and I want to share something possibly useful to beginners, as I couldn’t find it in the support forums. E-mails sent by phpBB were often treated as spam (tested with registration and password reset e-mails). These e-mails were sent using native, PHP-based emai...

Hi All! I'm launching my new board shortly and I'm now looking through available settings to see any decisions that I should make. There is this setting under server configuration/security settings: Tie forms to guest sessions. I would normally leave the default setting as I do for all technical stu...

Re: Cache purge and hard refresh not working

Thanks! I have read the user guide before (downloaded as a pdf file) and in my opinion there is nothing about the need for setting the new style as default in the section that covers customisation (no.8), would you agree? It is true that the article in the knowledge base is clearer in that respect, ...

Re: Cache purge and hard refresh not working

Thank you Robert! I missed the final step! I thought that activating the theme is enough. For other novice users that will come here via google: when you activate the theme, you need to go to general/board settings in ACP and check appropriate boxes in the "Board style" section.

thanks again
Marek
