Re: Members added to a new group

Hello, I deleted the group and created a new one. I then ran the script you posted and the result is the same. Manage Groups indicates 1 member, in User Defined Groups it states 'The group has no members' in Group Members :: Active Members. Clearly, my intent is to add a large number of members with...

Members added to a new group

Hello, I created a new group with the intent on using it to send out mass emails. I then ran an SQL script to add members to the group. On ACP tab General, Manage Groups, my new Active Members Group indicates 515 members (see image below). When I click on Members the next screen displays 'This group...

Re: emoji smiles appear as code not image

Hello, Robert, I do agree with you. I found it rather odd that I had to paste the folder theme into the styles folder. When I installed phpBB & updated the DB I then renamed the install folder then went to: www(.)mydomain(.)com/phpBB3/ and pushed return. I saw an error message stating the theme fold...

Re: emoji smiles appear as code not image

Hello, Glad to trust you, however there was no theme folder. In fact I had gone back to look again about 20 minutes ago unzipped it and no files. Here is an image (I did not extract for this image, I just doubled clicked the zip file to get to the continence): http://www.transformationsbyrori.com/cl...

Re: emoji smiles appear as code not image

Hello, Lumpy, I understand. Though, in inspecting the original download from phpBB there was no folder in there either. Conclusion, phpBB left it out. Thank goodness my diagnostics and ability to understand php got me to the correct answer of finding and placing the folders in /styles. Otherwise, I ...

Re: emoji smiles appear as code not image

Hello, Yes you are correct, though they were never supplied by phpBB in their download of their current program. And no one had an idea one needed to go to the old program to lift out and bring forward the smiles that came with the older program in order to get the smiles smiling in the latest relea...

Re: emoji smiles appear as code not image

Hello, Wrong Way, you may not be fully reading my previous posts. The php coding I wrote about was for the /styles folder not /smiles folder. The program was looking in /styles for the folder, theme, but it vwas not there. I had to paste a copy of the theme folder into the /styles folder to get the ...

Re: emoji smiles appear as code not image

Hello, David thank you for that number. As I wrote in my post above maybe the php coding calling for the smiles folder is pointing somewhere else. As an example the board would not display on my initial launch and an error message displayed. I examined the php coding only to find the program was loo...

Re: emoji smiles appear as code not image

Hello, I looked at the edit button and some of the smiles are the same name and code as in the folder. As I said, all of the smiles in the folder are all that came with the phpBB 3.2.5 php 7.1.x zipped folder directly from phpBB's official website. None have been deleted or misplaced. That said, I e...

Re: emoji smiles appear as code not image

Hello, In server settings the path is: images/smiles Perhaps you did not see my prior post including an image of the path: images/smiles , this smiles folder contains 24 .gif files. See above post. I already have explored the basics like path settings and such. Do keep in mind when I installed a new...

emoji smiles appear as code not image

Hello, See images at far bottom. I first thought this maybe a bug. I contacted Area 51,see link to ticket below, but probably not a bug so I'm starting this topic. https://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/PHPBB3-15983#add-comment Running phpBB 3.2.5 PHP 7.1.14, MySQL 5.1.3, Apache 2.2.24, local : Firefox 65...

Re: CConverting BB2 to BB3 and no errors and no conversion

Hello, Good thoughts in the last two posts, thank you. One bad break is that the moderator of the forum can't remember or find her password. So, I cannot login to the new forum to make changes. I'm locked out! The, I forgot my password, dose not work because the email feature has a glitch. I can't g...
