Just put the code for the ad in the overall_header.tpl file...or, wait...do you want your own banner to appear? Or something like Google Ads or Overture? Because if you want your own then you're going to have to look in the MODs section...I know there's a MOD there that allows you to do that.

I can give you one piece of advice: Don't use Dreamweaver with phpBB! The results are not only very messy, but the also don't follow the phpBB coding standards, and they might not even work in some parts...download Notepad 2 and use that. To get a better idea of how to code the page using the phpBB ...

I'm not sure, but from the looks of things, you're only allowed one connection to the database. I can't really tell with ODBC, but that's all I can think of for "file already in use." Who is your host?

Hey, clubchill, just because Amazon doesn't get hacked by Internet Explorer every day doesn't mean it's not possible. For all we know, there could be a vulnerability in IE that would allow someone to hack big sites like Paypal. But that's not the point. phpBB is a totally different system. With Amaz...

It's not really phpBB's fault, it's IE's. Internet Explorer has so many security holes that I'm suprised there's only one major vulnerability out involving it.

If they are the same version, simply do a database back-up on your older version, and restore the database in the new version with that file.

Looks like you're in debug mode...who is your host? Contact them about it and ask them to turn off debug mode.

Command line? Where did you download the patch from? If you downloaded it from here, you don't need any command lines or anything. Just unzip the files, and run upgrade_to_latest.php, and you're done.
