Re: Safe Mods

The question isn't "do" or "don't" it is "can" or "can't". The simple fact as I see it, is, you just cannot develop all MODs using this strategy. There are certain things that work very well in this framework. There are things that are impossible. This is true. You wold likely be limited to one MOD...

Re: Safe Mods

Oh for Pete's sake... Call the Fred MODs then... You are STILL missing the point. The name doesn't have a darn thing to do with it. Look at the proposed functionality. The only extra work is on the part of the developer and it is creating easier installation and administration for the non-technical ...

Re: Safe Mods

Actually I read it as the actual MOD authors were mainly not in agreement to this. To me a 'safe' MOD is one validated by phpBB MOD team. As I MOD author I want to be free to MODify the code in whichever way I need for my MOD. If that means replace then so be it. I agree with you there.. If the use...

Re: Simple Subforums

What's a subforum? You don't need this mod.... without sub forums + Forum 1 | + Forum 2 | + Forum 3 | + Forum 4 with simple sub forums + Forum 1 | Forum 1a | Forum 1b | Forum 1c + Forum 2 | + Forum 3 | + Forum 4 with hierarchical sub-forums (fancy but with many other headaches) + Forum 1 | Forum 1a...

Re: Simple Subforums

Put that folder under admin/mods folder.

Then run EasyMOD and it will be able to find it.

Re: discove oracle at installation

Those are all commented out. Remove the ; to include them - although those are tuning parameters and not connection parameters. Also in your environment variable section in the info from =phpinfo() there are no ORACLE_HOME or other Oracle variables. this post tells how to set up Oracle variables for...

Re: discove oracle at installation

What does phpinfo() say about your configuration? Here are some links that may help with configuration: http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/notes/technote_php_instant.html Not specifically Solaris, but the Linux advice can't be too far off. http://www.dbforums.com/showthread.php?t=1311056 This disc...

Re: Administrator Access

if you, as admin, are making yourself moderator of any forum or any group, then don't. when you do this, and then make changes to the group, it removes your admin privileges. there is no need for an admin to be a moderator, you already have all those powers anyway. Ah, indeed that sounds like it ma...

Re: Administrator Access

Well darnit if it didn't happen again. I just created a group (for the purpose of uploading files) and assigned it access to a forum from the Group Admin - Permissions console. Upon submitting the change I got the page with the option to return to the Permissions console and clicking that link gets ...

Re: [RC] Halloween 2.0.21

Keen! This looks like a complete replacement for the now missing (I was looking for it just this AM) Halloween icons! The Simple Sub Forums MOD has a few custom icons. I made some back when the Halloween theme was just some icons to replace. You're welcome to snag those and add them to your package ...

Re: Simple Subforums

Full reinstall of both fixed the problem. However, now I have two small cosmetic issues, and I can't seem to find the exact code to change to fix them. First:: folders_big.gif and folders_new_big.gif .. i'd like those two images to show even if the parent forum is locked. (Instead of the locked gra...

Re: [20/01/07] Admin Userlist

I just recently added this mod to my forum using EasyMOD. I got the following error when trying to delete multiple users: Could not delete auto-login keys for this user DEBUG MODE SQL Error : 1146 Table 'forum.SESSIONS_KEYS_TABLE' doesn't exist DELETE FROM SESSIONS_KEYS_TABLE WHERE user_id = 263 Li...

Re: Simple Subforums

The viewforum.php MOD kills my boards now. When I MOD the file and go live with it all I get is a header and the bottom of the page (where the forum I want displayed) is blank. Any clue? As well...the line that is to be edited in viewtopic.php calling for an addhash or something like that doesn't e...
