Re: Viewing attachments by extension group: is this possible?

I know about that function, but it's not applicable in this case.

"No longer required" in this case means "things that were attached over a period of years, either as betas or as final versions ready for archiving, with the betas now being redundant and the final versions already archived elsewhere".

Viewing attachments by extension group: is this possible?

I'm looking at doing some maintenance on a site I inherited. I want to go through the attachments and delete any which are no longer required (will save a bit of storage space, and make file backups easier). To do this, it would be handy if I could view attachments by extension group, but there does...

Re: Extensions in selected styles

It would be possible. All you'd have to do is include empty files named to match the extension's files in the template/event folders. That would keep the extension back end happy, but prevent anything being echoed to the browser. IOW, you'd make a new styles/we_universal/template/event folder, and p...

Re: What is your opinon on dark styles?

Somewhere I already saw exactly that being done. But I can't swear it was in a phpBB style or some other application's style. We have the functionality for this, written and ready to rock and roll (see: https://streamable.com/jow43). Preferences are stored in a cookie. Unfortunately there are some ...

...the Democrats don't deserve to win 2020, the standards they displayed proved they were more interested in personal gain rather than the interests of the American people. Does this mean the Repubs deserve to win this year? Their behaviour has been even worse. ETA: Just had my first big laugh of t...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.9 Release

Thanks for this. Can someone please refresh my memory as to where the list of changed files is? I vaguely recall it's on GitHub somewhere. 3.2.x style changes: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=591&t=2428791 3.3.x style changes: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=686&t=25...

Re: What is your opinon on dark styles?

Should a dark style be totally dark in all features (editor, posts page, etc.), or is a balanced light and dark preferable? Yes, I figure some will say I can make it any way I want. Still, I'd like to hear what others think about the aspects of a dark style. Don't try to mix and match. By attemptin...

Re: What is your opinon on dark styles?

A UCP-based option and reading the user preference from the database is a better option IMO, but much less easy to implement. It's a good idea, but really would have to be built in as a default feature. It's a bit much for an extension. The codebase would have to be done to support variants of a gi...

Re: Mobile browsing.

Righty-o. So it's sorted on your site. No problem. You can fiddle with it on other phpBB sites if you want to, by running a browser extension such as Stylish or Stylus (I'd recommend the latter). But it will get a tad tedious if you are trying to fix a lot of sites for your own browsing, since every...

Re: Mobile browsing.

Why is phpBB still using extremely small text L? and default images whilst browsing on mobiles ? I’d like to see some of them removed and replaced for space for reading, with out me going to the opticians for glasses  Ok, to shortcut all the discussion about whether you should be objecting or ...

Threaded is a love it or hate it sort of thing. Personally, if a site is using threaded I find another site.

Re: Style is not updating (SE Square Left)

phpBB is a bit weird in that the CSS is chopped up into all sorts of "helpful" files, so depending on what you want to do you may indeed have to edit several files to change one element. Or, you can just load custom code last to override the earlier stuff if you can't be bothered digging through all...
