Just do as he said and reupload the admin folder, and put subSilver back if you deleted it.

learn something new every day, I did not know you could run the update to latest from any directory other than the one the directions tell you to. ( install ) anyway, glad it worked. robert I don't think you can, seeing as some of the includes are ('../includes/whtevr.php'), so it'd seem like that'...

Oops! Sorry I missed the link. I'm sure that phpMyAdmin is a very useful tool. But can I make a simple backup without it? (I want to keep my life simple.) When I use the built-in backup, I don't see a backup being done anywhere. The built-in tool only backups the default phpBB schema, not anything ...

There, in the quote, the link is bolded now. That is a KB article by me that instructs you how to make a backup with phpMyAdmin, as well as restoring a backup (which doesn't apply to you at the moment)

Error 1) Don't really have enough info
Error 2) You probably have something with your SMTP settings (or whoever the SMTP server is) that prevents more than x emails an hour.

You would access it via SSH if you have the cabability, which I doubt you do, so you probably won't be able to use the patch method.
