I installed 2.0.18, it says I'm running 2.0.17?

Instead of doing the upgrade, I went a different route. I made a complete back up of the database. I deleted the old database, and deleted the phpBB directory. I downloaded the new 2.0.18, and installed it like a fresh new install. After the install, it showed I was running 2.0.18. I used the admin ...

Re: Are you phpBB programmers serious??

I have phpBB 2.0.17, and I see there is a new 2.0.18. So I go to see the files and I see this- Installation Level: Advanced Installation Time: ~ 120+ Minutes Why make it so difficult it can only be done by advanced programmers? And 2 hours? Is there any way to break down these upgrades so only the ...

any way to disable IP view for moderators?

is there any way to remove the ability of moderators to see ip addresses. or is there a good reason for that? i understand the reason for an admin to have that information, for banning spammers. but can it be disabled from moderators?

Code for changing a view in the ACP

In my ACP index, it shows the people logged in, when they logged in, ect. Every category only takes one line, except the "log in", it takes two, it makes the rest of the column fat. Is there any way to change the date from the format of "05 Sep 2005 09:15 pm" to "9/15/05 9:15pm" I don't know is that...

How to best moderate a forum?

This started with a post in the support forum, asking what Moderators can do. My forum is growing and I now feel like I need someone to Moderate. But I am worried about the damage that can be done. I don't really know any of my members except for what they post in the forums. But I found a few who s...

What can a moderator do?

If a user has their permissions changed so they are "is moderator" for a specific forum, what powers do they have? Can there delete posts? Is there any way they can "hide" posts, so that only administrators can delete them? Can moderators ban members? If the admin makes someone a moderator of one fo...

As you've said yourself, keep a backup of the files just in case something goes wrong. If the template is different from subSilver, then you'll have to adapt the changes into the template. This can be tedious but, it'll work with some editting. Also, it'd help to set up a test forum so you can test...

Live board, want to add a mod, should I lock the board while

Should the board be locked while making modifications?

It should only take a minute to do. Is there any danger in leaving the board live while making changes? Should everyone be logged out while the mods are done?

Who is Online

In the ACP, the admin can see who is online, and what action they are taking, for example "posting a message". Is there any way to see in what section they are posting, for example "posting reply in forum cars"?
