Controlling newly registered users

Hi, I upgraded to 3.0.6 mainly for the option to control newly registered users. My goal is simple - I would like the new users to have the same permissions as the regular users but to limit their access to our marketplace area (read only or no access at all). Is there a way to make a user that belo...

Minimum rank to post in a specific forum

Hi guys,
We'd like to have our classified forum restricted to users with a minimum of 10 posts,
Is there a way to set up the permissions so only a specific rank (and up) will be able to post in the specific forum?

Thanks.

Global announcements can be removed by normal moderators

Hello, I have set a few users to be moderators in specific forums, I tried both "standard" and "simple" moderator roles, in both cases the moderator was able to delete a global announcement completely. Is there a way to have the moderators blocked from being able to remove global announcements and s...

[Potential Performance Bug]

Hi there, I noticed that the "files" folder is being used for both uploaded files and images thumbnails. This could lead to performance issues as in Linux - ext[23] as well as xfs and in some way jfs are not handling huge directories that well, many (most?) Linux servers today run ext3 which is pret...

Remember password for the admin login

Hi there, I understand that in RC6 or RC7 a security feature was added to prevent the browser from remembering the passwords when logging into the admin interface. This is pretty annoying as in firefox - what I get is that firefox remembers a new user/password pair every time I am logging in and add...

version_update_from not updated

Hello, After finally getting around an upgrade from RC5 to 3.0.1, config table/version_update_from is not updated and the system tab says I am not running the latest version (while I am running 3.0.1 as it also says on the main ACP page...) I changed it manually to 3.0.1 and now it doesn't complain ...

Re: Trying to upgrade from phpBB3RC5... Need some help

It turned out to be (probably) the cached files on the database...
IMHO - the updater should know how to handle them or at least print a warning...

Trying to upgrade from phpBB3RC5... Need some help

Hi there, One of my forums still runs phpBB3 RC5 and I never got around to upgrade it due to some modifications it has which make the upgrade a bit time consuming... I decided to start working on it. My plan was: 1. Revert to the original phpBB3 code (All my mods are code based, not a single databas...

Is there a way to have a CPF appear only upon registration?

Hi,
I am looking for a way to have a CPF appear only upon registration without giving the user the option to edit this field later.

I tried playing with the CPF options to no avail, am I missing something or is it simply impossible?

Thanks!

Re: Alternative text for SITE_LOGO_IMG

Thank you.
What the point in having to change the code itself to change such a trivial parameter? :(
I will do that - but this means another thing to remember when I upgrade :(

Thanks again.

Re: Alternative text for SITE_LOGO_IMG

Hi,
Thanks - I know how to change my logo, actually - {SITE_LOGO_IMG} is being replaced with:
<img src="LOGO..." alt="" title="" />

What I am wondering is how can I change that alt="" and maybe also title=""...

Re: Alternative text for SITE_LOGO_IMG

Thanks,
I looked at it and couldn't find anything.
My "alt=" tag is empty, so is my "title=" tag (both under <img>)
