Re: Custom Profile Fields - splitting display - how?

It's been a while, I missed your post, sorry.

ACP -> board features
set "Display custom profile fields on topic pages" to Yes.

Re: How do I know when there is a new message in a forum

Of course I can change that, but that will be good only for my forum, as I explained - according to wikipedia 7-10% of the male population will have a hard time noticing this icon...

Re: How do I know when there is a new message in a forum

This icon is not color-blind friendly!!! :) Seriously, I have to work really hard to see the difference, considering the fact that around %10 of the men in the world have some sort of color blindness - I believe this issue should be addressed. Should I open a bug on this or am I being an idiot? Than...

Re: How do I know when there is a new message in a forum

Sure,
I just finished converting over 350,000 messages from discus (archived html, omg!) to phpbb2 to phpbb3.
The forum is online and users are currently re-claiming their password.

How do I know when there is a new message in a forum

Hi there, When I see the list of my forums, is there a way to know if there is a new message in one of the posts on this forum? phpBB2 had a different icon to tell me that there are new messages on this forum, I can't seem to find anything similar in phpBB3 (on the forum itself each thread with a ne...

Re: Custom Profile Fields - splitting display - how?

Anyone?

The thing is that I have 5 fields, 3 of which contain too much data and I don't want them to appear on the "topic" view near the username/location/etc... - I do want them to appear on the profile view.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Custom Profile Fields - splitting display - how?

Hi,
(RC5)

I have configured some custom profile fields.
Is there a way to have a specific field appear on the "topic" screen as well while the other fields appear only on the user profile?

Thanks.

Minimum search length - hard coded?

Hi, Continuing my conversion tests from discus to phpbb3 I am now testing the search capabilities in phpbb3. I tried searching for a few 3 characters strings, didn't work, I then reduced "Min characters indexed by search" to 2 and rebuilt the mysql fulltext index. Nada. I tried to search for "360" o...

Re: html posts are not shown correctly

I wrote my own small converter to do that, I now have 2 questions:

1. Is post_checksum important? I noticed that the import function doesn't fill it up and I left it empty as well?
2. How do you calculate the bbcocde_uid? do you simply rand() and md5() and then take only the first 5 chars?

Thanks.

Re: html posts are not shown correctly

Ok, thanks.

But - since html WAS supported by phpbb2 - don't you think upgrade should convert html posts to bbcode?
