Re: Sharing forums, posts and users from 3.0

It will definitely not work for posts since the soft delete feature of 3.1 changes quite a bit of the database table structure. If you just want it for testing, you can copy the 3.0 database to another and then run the updater on the copied database. Then just let others play around with the copy (w...

Re: Heartbleed

Yes, but before I didn't want to spend the time necessary to properly setup and secure one of them. I've not found one yet that has fantastic security; I'm trying out LastPass now and think it may work, but the default security settings were pretty insecure and you have to read all of their document...

Re: Heartbleed

I tried dumping data stored in memory from httpd while attempting to login; it's actually much easier to figure out what data was a specific user's password than I had thought. I also looked over the attack again and see it leaked a much larger amount of data for each request than I thought I saw ea...

Re: Heartbleed

While this SSL issue was a very serious one, every website going out and recommending that users change their passwords is slightly paranoid if not absurd. The recommendation to change passwords assumes that: 1. This vulnerability was known by someone where your traffic was being routed through duri...

Re: Time Zones - Possibly an issue?

Late response, but...I believe it lists all locations by their current time shift (e.g. America/Chicago right now is GMT -5 because it is currently DST). Select the current time difference for your location (the suggestion button works well), then the correct location, and you will not need to chang...

Re: vBulletin 5 Connect and phpbb? Custom Mobile app for for

We have no plans to create a phpBB "app" for phones to access a phpBB forum. As mentioned earlier, 3.1 includes a responsive style and works quite nicely on phones. 3.1 also includes a new notification system and it would not be too hard to set it up to support sending notifications via sms, a possi...

Re: Making extensions appear outside of phpBB

I believe it might be possible if you copy the app.php file to your server root and update the paths in that file, then edit the extension's routing config file and change the path there.

Re: Separate handler for each mode in a module

You need to create a module info file for each module file.

\aleha\myext\acp\myext_module1_info.php should contain the info for the module \aleha\myext\acp\myext_module1_module.php
\aleha\myext\acp\myext_module2_info.php should contain the info for the module \aleha\myext\acp\myext_module2_module.php

Re: Separate handler for each mode in a module

Instead of trying to make 1 module with 3 different modes, just make 3 different modules with 1 mode each if you want it that way.

Re: [Beta] phpBB Tracker (Bug/Feature/Issue)

Looks like it's here: https://github.com/EXreaction/phpbb-tra ... er.php#L30

Just use (change the id if you must):
$user->setup(false, 1);

Re: [Beta] phpBB Tracker (Bug/Feature/Issue)

One option is to find the call to $user->setup() and add the style id of the style you wish to use as the second parameter.

Eg. $user->setup('tracker/common', 1);

You'll need to find the id from the styles table in the database.

Go to the schema in phpMyAdmin and see what it says; if the default is 'none' or null or something else.

Re: Discuss: Extensions Development Team

You of course can hack the code in any way you want, however an extension would be much more useful as you wouldn't need to worry about updates.
