Re: How to show forum name of parent id?

I believe this should take care of it: $posts_ary = array( 'SELECT' => 'p.*, t.*, u.username, u.user_colour, parent.forum_name AS parent_forum_name', 'FROM' => array( POSTS_TABLE => 'p', ), 'LEFT_JOIN' => array( array( 'FROM' => array(USERS_TABLE => 'u'), 'ON' => 'u.user_id = p.poster_id' ), array( ...

Re: Creating a dummy session

Then it should be too terribly difficult. You'd want to go through the code for the dbal to see what it all needs. You'll probably need to include functions.php and you might need to initiate the cache as well (I do not recall exactly for 3.0). Just include the correct files and setup the dbal (see ...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.1 Alpha1 Preview Release

Thanks to all those who have helped a long the way--everyone who contributed code, tested the software while it was still in development, reported bugs, gave input on the project or process, or assisted in any other way. This wouldn't be where it is today without the support of our community.

Re: Is Tapatalk safe?

If you find a release in our Mod Database, it's probably pretty safe (at least for the board).

Many years ago I recall reviewing some of the code and it did have many vulnerabilities, which is why at that time it was not approved, however that hopefully has changed since.

Re: Creating a dummy session

It's certainly possible, however there is quite a bit of work required, especially if you want to use things like templates or other features.

Do you only want to use the database abstraction layer and the language/translation system from phpBB or are there other features you want to use?

Re: Link in event generated PM does not work

You'll want to use the generate_text_for_storage() function.

Re: Adding a "viewownprofile" mode for memberlist.php

At the beginning of memberlist after $user->setup is called, and both $user_id and $mode are defined.

Code: Select all

if ($mode == 'viewownprofile')
{
    $mode = 'viewprofile';
    $user_id = (int) $user->data['user_id'];

You should probably ask in the support forum, they might have a better answer for you.

Fair enough :) There's this too http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=35709 which is useful. (if kept upto date) Just thinking there might be alot of requests for things already in the pipeline, or is this more of how popular things are? We did some thinking and are leaning toward only...

Re: Remove the friends feature, turn foes into an ignore fea

I agree that it should be left as is. Some mods, including the User Blog Mod I wrote long ago, added a bunch of special functionality based on friends/foes.

Re: Is it possible to change post_text programmatically?

You don't need to do any conversions on the data. When you fetch the post_text from the database it will be a normal string. The post_checksum should just be md5(post_text). You'll probably want to fetch the data from the post table, and run the post text through generate_text_for_edit(), then modif...

Re: How to link to user profile, user posts, subscribed topi

You should be able to link to just about everything for everyone by just by going to the page you want in your browser and copying the URL of the page. You can test that the URL you grab is correct by logging out, logging in as a different user, then pasting the URL in your browser. If it goes to th...
