Re: How to link to user profile, user posts, subscribed topi

Outside of your phpBB folder you'll probably just want to make the links manually. Using append_sid or the template engine could require significant work (especially to use on Wordpress), which probably isn't worth the effort.

Re: How to link to user profile, user posts, subscribed topi

Sorry, I copied that code from 3.1-dev, U_SITE_HOME isn't available in 3.0. To see if they are logged in: <!-- IF S_USER_LOGGED_IN --> stuff for logged in users <!-- ELSE --> stuff for not logged in users <!-- ENDIF --> I don't think any built in functionality exists to list all the topics started b...

Re: Show latest 5 posts but hide hidden ones

If you must use a raw query, this will work: $result = mysql_query("SELECT wsq_posts.post_time as post_time, wsq_posts.post_text as post_text, wsq_posts.topic_id as tid, wsq_posts.forum_id as fid, wsq_topics.topic_title as topic_title, wsq_users.username as username, wsq_posts.post_username as anon ...

Re: Accessing post ID from attachments.html template

It's because the attachments are parsed before the POST_ID is outputted. There is one way that it should work with little effort, though it is a bit hacky. In viewtopic.php, find where it calls parse_attachments() Just before that, add this: $template->assign_var('CURRENT_POST_ID', $row['post_id']);...

Re: How to link to user profile, user posts, subscribed topi

Some of these are already defined in the page_header function. 'U_PRIVATEMSGS' => append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}ucp.$phpEx", 'i=pm&folder=inbox'), 'U_RETURN_INBOX' => append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}ucp.$phpEx", 'i=pm&folder=inbox'), 'U_POPUP_PM' => append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}ucp.$phpEx", 'i=pm&mod...

Re: [Beta] phpBB Tracker (Bug/Feature/Issue)

If you check the code from the view statistics page, you might find an easy way to do it. I'm not familiar with this code so I'm not sure.

Re: Code for Cookie consent

Consent is not required for phpBB forums, unless you added or modified code to track user information that is not explicitly required to use the service (unlike phpBB cookies). If you want to put up a consent notice anyways, I would be careful of using externally hosted scripts such as that, it open...

Re: phpBB or MyBB

I know all about SQL injections, but it's just that you can't execute multiple queries with the way MySQL in PHP works It all has to be one big complicated query, and you can't do anything fancy with 32 chars ;) Lucky for your MySQL users that MySQL has that as a "feature" (unfortunate for your use...

Re: instant forum access after registration (bad idea?)

User activation was a feature mostly for spam prevention in the past. This feature no longer stops spam (bots do exist which can use different email services to automatically activate accounts), but does make it more difficult for spammers (it mostly requires they build more complex bots or pay more...

Re: [Beta] phpBB Tracker (Bug/Feature/Issue)

Well, I'm not sure I'm able to provide a good explanation at the moment of how this works, but I found a page that appears to give some explanation of how this works (the image might be especially helpful): http://www.sideralis.org/baobab/#the-nested-set-model-in-brief If that's not helpful, you may...

Re: security risks of allowing PHP in templates

To elaborate on what Arty said a little, the security risk is installing a style which has not been audited (is not in the styles database here) because it could contain PHP code which opens a vulnerability in your board. If you only use modifications or styles that have been approved and are in the...
