Re: [BETA] Prune Inactive Users

Ah! I think I figured it out. You wrote: Well according to the mod, the files don't exist, did you copy root/templates/admin/prune_users_sql.tpl to YOUR_PHPBB_DIRECTORY/templates/admin/prune_users_sql.tp Except that that's not how it is in the zipfile. It's not templates/admin, it's templates/subsil...

Re: [BETA] Prune Inactive Users

Nope, that's not the case. I can say that with certainty because I just manually uploaded every file again and in each instance it asked me if I wanted to overwrite the file that was already there. It wouldn't say that if the file was missing. But I uploaded them all over again. Then I logged in, cl...

Re: [BETA] Prune Inactive Users

*sigh* I'm sure it is the standard syntax... but it's baffling. All other instructions are pretty simple. I just come from too much of a "For Dummies" background when it comes to technical instructions. I've always believed that the clearer the instructions at the beginning, the less you have to exp...

Re: [BETA] Prune Inactive Users

Well it appears you have not executed the SQL queries that were in the install file. In phpmyadmin, execute this: CREATE TABLE `phpbb_pruned_users` ( `id` mediumint(8) NOT NULL auto_increment, `deleted_by` int(255) NOT NULL, `delete_time` int(11) NOT NULL, `data` text NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) )...

Re: 500 server error when I try to convert

Thanks, A Jelly Doughnut! So, your guess is that the problem is my server host is not giving this conversion program enough time to work. WAMP and setting up all those copies on my computer sounds like a lot of trouble. Maybe what I can do, before I do that, is make a concerted effort to wipe out al...

Re: 500 server error when I try to convert

One more thought I had: I'm running my install, followed by the conversion of the old forum. I get the 500 error. I then pull down the install_convert, add that line of code, export it... Then what? What I've been doing is going back to the /board/install/index.php?mode=convert&language=en in my bro...

Re: 500 server error when I try to convert

Yes, I do have many mods. However, I found a fix to this problem: Add this to the top of install/install_convert.php : set_time_limit(40); It actually did the job, the conversion went through successfully. When you say "add this to the top" where exactly do you mean? I'm sure this is a stupid quest...

Re: 500 server error when I try to convert

I tried this patch and it still doesn't seem to fix it. I set it to 10. Possible problem #1: if this is a matter of timing out, could the problem be the 4500 spammer members in my old forum? (Stopping spam is the whole reason I'm anxious to go to the new version!) I only have about 50 legit members,...

A suggestion...

I had a LOT of spammers who registered, posted once and disappeared. (I recently turned on approval for new users, though I think I may need some other anti-spam options.) In addition to "time passed since last post", it may be nice to weed out those who've only posted once. Could it be possible to ...

EZBoard search

All of my searches for "EZBoard" brought up too many vague results. Thank you for directing me to that. It looks like someone else got the same error and I should be able to resolve it.

Bless you! Have a good weekend.

60+ views and no responses?

Is there a reason no one's answering? Is it that nobody uses the EZBoard convertor?

Should I e-mail the creator of the convertor?

Let me boil this down to a simple question:

What do I do now if it says "debug: select forum_id from phpbb_forums where forum_name='bonk'"?

EZboard convertor - Need debugging help (UPDATED)

I was trying to move my EZBoard to http://www.fanzing.com/forum/ However, the first time I ran the convertor, it gave me a red error message. I looked through the 20 pages and finally found a closed thread I had overlooked the first time. (All closed threads have to be reopened or deleted.) I reopen...

Oops!

I may have misunderstood. I thought you were converting from a different type of board; I see now you're talking about moving an EZBoard from one host to another. My apologies.

Thank you JM!

I do have FTP access, so I may be able to get access easily, then. Thanks! The board was not hacked (that I know of) though it is now getting spammed, which is why I'm being urged to regain admin control of the board. In evaluating phpbb, I have decided to set it up on my own personal site and repla...
