Re: What's the difference between /en and /en_us?

We allow the short form use by translators for their most-used language pack variant in their country and we do so too (for us it is the "this is our primary used language than most-used, because i never looked at actual figures). Sure it makes no difference if it is now de-x-sie or en_EN-GB or what...

Re: What's the difference between /en and /en_us?

It has caused confusion here. Your explanation sort of contradicts the fact that the Default language setting in the ACP lists "British English", not just "English". ;) Steve No, not at all. I only explained why the directory (and therefore also what is in iso.txt) is en. ;) The name is completely ...

Re: What's the difference between /en and /en_us?

the main language used is able to use the shortcut variant, for example de_du uses de (and also not de_DE)... because it is the default one.

Re: phpBB 3.0.6 Release Candidate 1 released

Attention Style Authors

We updated the codechanges packages again to include some missing image files (three files for prosilver in theme/images and one for subsilver2 in theme/images).

Make sure you include those additional files in your updated styles.

Re: phpBB 3.0.6 Release Candidate 1 released

There were two additional issues with the code changes (and now you may understand why we do not provide them for the core code, patch files are far better suited). The following change was missing from prosilver: # #-----[ OPEN ]--------------------------------------------- # styles/prosilver/templ...

Re: phpBB 3.0.6 Release Candidate 1 released

We were informed by Wuerzi that there are two bugs in the template changes. We replaced the code changes package and suggest every style author implements/fixes this in his/her style. The following change had AFTER, ADD, but it should be BEFORE, ADD. ;) # #-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------...

Re: The evolution of web applications

**edit** Just saw this post above mine... Maybe the reason why the UI lacks is because we have no longer a "design" person within the dev team.. Even if you do not have a "design" expert on the team you could simply get feedback from real end users, the real experts on usability, before something g...

Re: The evolution of web applications

Maybe the reason why the UI lacks is because we have no longer a "design" person within the dev team and even outside the dev team not much - sure, some do graphics and such, but no one like Tom or Jon or UI gurus... even within the community there seems to be no-one interested in helping out. And w...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.0.6 Release Candidate 1 released

Regarding the support question... we supported previous RC releases of phpBB (phpBB-RC6,7, etc.), but never publically announced an interim RC release (3.0.5-RC1 for example). Questions should be posted in the support forums of course, general discussion about a feature or something else in the Dis...

Re: 3.0.6 Atom feeds suggestions/questions

Yes, it is intentional. :) Without looking at the code currently the regexes there are all there to change bbcodes into their respective forms, especially broken ones or flipped (you know, bold -> strong -> /bold -> /strong) ones and so on. I do not know if this is required anymore since the change ...

Re: Discuss: Blog post about phpBB 3.0.6 plans

The version of SVN I'm running in test is already tagged 3.0.6-RC1 The version is set to 3.0.6-RC1, but there is no tag so far. No "release" tag but that is only because it has not been rolled into a download package yet. ;) I never understand why these people that whine incessantly about release d...

Re: What is phpbb phpBB 3.1.x (Ascraeus)

Apart from styles which would need to implement the changes one of the biggest change is that phpBB 3.1.x is supposed to be backwards compatible with 3.0.x - this was not the case before. Before the announcement phpBB 3.2.x (3.1.x was at this time the development version of 3.2.x) was supposed to br...
